Thanks Canadia! redvelvetnation.com/a-question-of-time/We spent a magical day this week with two of the world’s biggest stars Gerard Butler and Kajol who flew into Dubai for the opening celebrations of the incredible new Roger Dubuis boutique in Dubai. The largest in the world! The day started in the boutique as the stars were interviewed for various publications, RVN of course amongst them! In between the fun filled interviews, we bonded with these incredibly fun stars! Gerard challenged us to a game of chess….he won! Kajol charmed me with her quick wit and incredibly striking eyes! Gerard, a friend of the Roger Dubuis brand, and Kajol who was guest of honour, bowled us over with their charm and humour. What a fantastic day!

This picture baffles me. It is because of the watchmakers supplying the timers for chess games? Just a random photo to make G look brainy? Who is he playing against? Deep blue? What's that picture frame all about? Never mind, he looks nice. I always imagined G as (strip) poker player myself.

Elenoire/Canadia posted earlier the article which I thought explained this picture quite well, am I missing your point? I loved the picture and have often read that Gerry loves to play chess and he probably enjoys poker also. What am I missing? sorry, I was being a bit sarcastic.... it's such an obvious marketing ploy... it made me smile to think that someone set up a situation where GB and whoever would spontaniously sit down and play a game of chess and there just happens to be a blogger to blog about it and a photographer to photograph it...I wonder when he landed if he got an intinerary... cut ribbon, take pictures, play chess, sleep.... I'm in a very cynical phase at the moment.. just in time for christmas! If I see that Brad Pitt ad for Chanel, I'm likely to roll around laughing, not rush out and buy the product. Saying that, G looks lovely, I didn't know he played chess actually. I still would like to go a few poker rounds with him, though. That way, I'd win and he'd have his kit off, whereas with chess it would be me in my birthday suit.

Thanks Elenoire!
Please if anyone ever goes an sees Gerry ask him what that look out pose is? Makes me wonder if it's a message for someone special. like his mom. Just like how Carol Burnett used to pull her ear at the end of her show. That was a secret message for her grandma.

The salute is something Gerry does with groups of people. He did it at TIFF and also with the firefighters when filming BH. Plus I've seen him do it other times.
