I want to see Gerry in a straight up romantic drama where he falls deeply in love and does not play a cad, a flirt, or a juvenile adult male. I want to see him paired with a brilliant actress, and I want to see sizzling chemistry between them. I want tasteful but sexy love scenes and believable passion. I want the script to be geared toward thinking adults and not 20 year old boys or adolescent girls. I want a great storyline with a riveting character arch for Gerry, and I want him to work with a truly great and visionary director. I want the film to have a message of hope and I want to feel uplifted when I leave the theater, but I don't want it to be syrupy sweet either. It must have the right balance of dark and light, pain and happiness, peace and conflict. And....I want the film to take place in a different era-maybe the 30's. And I want Gerry to at least be nominated for a best actor academy award. I'm totally agree with you, Swansong

I think Gerry could be perfect for tv series like Game Of Throne and Downtown Abbey I agree with you Audrey! GOT would be perfect with Gerry in it...

don't think jumping over to a television mini series (however well made) is the best move especially since he is making films. film making and tv are two different animals altogether. gerry is definitely in the film making mode. he's making a lot of films. each one builds upon the other. lets not forget...at least he's working and having choices and making a difference with the stories told. honestly, its beyond the basic level of mere economics at this point. film is an art, not a function of entertainment which television mimics. dont get me wrong, tv broadcast is an awesome avenue & should be held to higher standards (beyond the sit-coms or reality shows). LOL (( i like what bravo is doing too)) it is a shame 'chasing mavericks' was hit by the northeastern storming. a big portion of american population is east of the mason-line ((shrugs)). demographics, oye?! but, many people are talking about this movie. it is not going away. it will be a surfer movie joined by all the others, to be cherished time and time again....by those who love all things surf and then some. what film(s) would i like to see gerry in? B&W remake of classic drama - (wolf, williams), 'clash by night' sci-fy thriller - a real fantasy mind bender historical - south american jesuits, irish clerics 300AD current event political - middle east, russia, bulgaria, 'follow the lapiz - follow the plutonium'..... suffice it to say, 'g' is the consummate acter who will always surprise & delight an audience...full of surprises, always original, always offering a different tale, a love story....of a different sort

Having just watched Jesus Christ Superstar on DVD, I think G would be a great Judas (ok, I know he has sort of played Judas already!). He has that great rock quality voice that would suit the role, and, after all, he has done Lloyd Webber before!

I would have loved to see Gerry in another sing movie or musical. Sadly i remember interview where Gerry apologized for his singing in Phantom of the Opera and that also said that a lot people didn't want see him in another singing movie. Thanks to those mean nasty critics and judge mental narrow minded Phanatics.
