But ramming your ideas down other people’s throats is not good either. Just because a cause means something to you, you have to respect if it doesn’t do anything for someone else. People should have the freedom to support the causes they feel are worthy without being disparaged by Hollywooders that think they know best. That’s why I think Gerry is so easy to like and respect. It’s because he respects other people’s rights and choices. That’s the point I was trying to make, not a political statement about how some causes needed to be supported. That’s not the issue here.

I'm with you, I cannot stand when stars get on their high horse and preach to the general public. There are stars whose movies I avoid-- Sean Penn is one, Angelina Jolie, George Clooney. I have yet to see Tomb Raider even with Gerry cause I can't stand Angelina. One thing that bums me out is the fact that they do these charities and then tell everybody about their good deeds. If it was truly from the heart they wouldn't advertise it they would just do the good work out of the goodness of the heart. Having their publicists report it to the media in my opinion takes away from the good deed. It makes me wonder about their true motivation.

"I have yet to see Tomb Raider even with Gerry cause I can't stand Angelina"Wow Dianne! I really respect your stand against 'preachers' in our entertainment industry. A lot of people talk the talk when it comes to their values, but few walk the walk, you know? And considering that you're walking away from a HOT Gerard in TR, I double, no, TRIPLE respect your stand I am so shallow that I could never give up spank material for my values LOLOLOL!!!!! It would probably take Gerard clubbing a baby seal to death while telling me that breast implants feel better than the real thing, for me to shy away from any of his movies. Even then I would probably ask, "now was that seal already dead Gerry?....."

OMG! Again I agree with you. I can’t stand Sean Penn. I will not see anything of his either. Same with Clooney and many of the other big mouth know-it-alls. I don’t need them preaching about things they know nothing about. If they want to teach us about their acting methods, something they have experience with, I’ll respect that. But anything else like politics and finances, I think it’s outrageous they think they can preach to us. What do they know that is not colored by their self-serving HW lifestyle? But not Gerry. He doesn’t preach about anything. He tells us about his feelings, emotions, and thoughts as pertaining to his life and that’s it. Amazingly enough he still gets criticized for being honest about himself because he doesn’t fit any type of HW mold. I did see Tomb Raider though. I just tuned out Angelina. There was no chemistry between them anyway. So I focused on him. I don’t find her that beautiful or alluring and that’s probably because I can’t overlook her depravity and wantonness, as well as that crazy behavior with Billy Bob. I find her so low standards, and I hate low-standards people. That woman would bed anything; no standards. And I think she turned Brad Pitt into low standards like herself. I think he was raised in a more traditional background where family and marriage was important, but being with her all these years has turned him exactly like her. He was never good at picking out good women anyway. From Gwyneth Paltrow to JA to Angelina, they are all cut from the same cloth.

And also I wanted to add that you should see Tomb Raider just to see Gerry. But don’t expect that much enjoyment. TBH was better, and that’s not saying much. I just tuned her out, and there isn’t much chemistry between them anyway, except for that famous kiss. I have to say that was very hot. Probably one of the hottest kisses on screen, bar none. But too short lol. Of course, you can also catch that scene in one of the many YouTube fan videos about Gerry. I think the lack of chemistry with Angeline stems from her smug attitude off screen. I read she was in competition with him. Like who can do more stunts. Totally pathetic. Also, she was a big star at the time and he was a relative unknown, and she looks down upon people that are not as famous as her. Angelina is a faker who only respects power and fame. She does all these charities just so that she can be talked about in the tabloids and magazines; appear like she matters and has political power. It’s all show and no substance. I really believe she has political ambitions after acting, and she is setting the stage. That’s right, if any of them did it out of the goodness of their own heart you wouldn’t hear about it from their publicist. This is all done for publicity and political or financial gain.

Wow & I thought I was in the camp alone re Angelina. I just can't stand the pretentiousness. Ugh. I don't like when they call her Angie - that's my Mom's name (actually Angielee) & she was so beautiful-- a model. G would def chase her. Tall, long- legged burnette (so am I but think my Mom was gorgeous. My dad a 6'2" Welch & Mom 5'7" Cherokee/Irish. Really beautiful couple. Brother Is 6"4" & me 5'10". If G would turn his head for me, I would have fainted and be hopelessly embarrassed & tongue-tied. He is so gorgeous.

I can't stand Angelina Jolie either. That seems to be the case for a lot of people now. So with Tomb Raider I just forwarded through all the parts and only watched the parts with Gerry in them. LOL. I mean, it's easy to pretend that she's not even there when he's on the screen.
