Thanks Shellie... I like Jamie Fox, I hope he signs... www.deadline.com/2012/06/jamie-foxx-in-talks-to-play-president-in-white-house-down/Jamie Foxx In Talks To Play President In ‘White House Down’ By MIKE FLEMING | Wednesday June 6, 2012 @ 6:42pm EDT Comments (8) Mike Fleming BREAKING: Jamie Foxx is in talks to play the president in White House Down, the Roland Emmerich-directed thriller scripted by James Vanderbilt. The film is produced by Mythology Entertainment partners Bradley Fischer, Vanderbilt, and Laeta Kalogridis. Channing Tatum was already set to play the Secret Service agent who tries to save the president when the White House is attacked. Emmerich and Harald Kloser are also producing. Sony bought the spec script for $3 million earlier this year with Sony planning a summer start. There’s a rival project with a similar premise, White House Taken, at Millennium Entertainment that has Gerard Butler attached, but we’ll see if both of them actually make it into production. Both have been called Die Hard at the White House. Foxx is currently playing the title role in Django Unchained, the Quentin Tarantino-directed slave era drama that also stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Christoph Waltz.

Actually, there were all kinds of false press about Gerry and Jamie not getting along in LAC. It was total crap. They wrote that Jamie was jealous of Gerry and all of his female attention. They reported that Jamie nicknamed Gerry, Gertard. LOL!!! I laugh every time I think of that.

Dianne, I wanted to see have Jame Foxx play the President in Gerry's movie White House Taken .. .. so I am not happy at all that he is going to be in Roland Emmerich's White House Down instead. Darn not good news at all. I thought it would have been great PR to have Jamie & Gerry back together. LAC has become a big hit on DVD. I wonder who they will cast as President in Gerry's film.

Gerard Butler headed to Shreveport for one of two dueling White House action flicks Published: Monday, June 11, 2012, 3:05 PM Updated: Monday, June 11, 2012, 3:09 PM By Mike Scott, The Times-Picayune Actor Gerard Butler, shown at December's Golden Globes annoucement, is headed to Shreveport to shoot 'White House Taken' (aka 'Olympus Has Fallen'), one of two upcoming action films set at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. The race to the White House is in full swing, but it's not happening where you think it is. It's playing out in Hollywood -- and in Shreveport -- as dueling inside-the-beltway action films, both described as "'Die Hard' in the White House," are ramping up production. Meanwhile, and closer to home, Nu Image/Millennium will start 50 days of production on "White House Taken" -- which is also known as "Olympus Has Fallen" -- in early July in the Shreveport and Bossier City areas, where the production house runs its own studio facility. (Resumes for prospective crew can be sent to resumes to whitehousetaken.resumes@gmail.com .) Antoine Fuqua will reportedly direct that one, with Gerard Butler starring as a Secret Service agent who is the government's last hope when terrorists invade the White House. No release date has been announced. The film will mark Butler's second recent trip to Shreveport; the actor shot the forthcoming rom-com "Playing the Field" there in spring 2011. Cameras have yet to roll on either film, but a poster for "White House Taken" cropped up along the Croisette at last month's Cannes Film Festival, as Millennium is apparently wasting no time in trying to sell the project to potential distribution houses. britsunited.blogspot.com/2012/06/gerard-butler-headed-to-shreveport-for.html?spref=twThanks SD

Are Evil Twins co-producing this or is this just a job for him? Him being in Shreveport now seems to indicate a higher level of involvement.

I am pretty sure Gerry is attached to the project as a Executive Producer. Regarding Evil Twins, Gerry can no longer use the name on any new projects due to a name infringement lawsuit settlement. I noticed on MGP he is just used his name Gerard Butler and Alan Siegel as executive producer. It looks like he is just going to use his & Alan's name when producing films. No fancy production company name LOL

Hi, Ladies. From the original entry in this thread, "Butler and his manager Alan Siegel will produce with Millennium prexy Mark Gill, while Avi Lerner will exec produce with Trevor Short." weiner1proboardscom.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=movies&action=display&thread=2667&page=1Of course, this may have changed since then. This stuck in my mind because at the time of the announcement, I felt very positive about the people Gerry would be working with. Mark Gill is that Film Department exec, a producer on Law Abiding Citizen who Gerry praised in that Phoenix press conference on behalf of The Film Dept. That company did not make it; subsequently Gill signed on with Millenium. (The press conference has been mentioned here in various threads, but in case you haven't seen it: www.youtube.com/watch?v=npP43VXrFz0 it's delightful and includes G's penguin impression.)

That press conference was so charming, especially the penguin impression. Thanks so much plou157 for posting it again as I hadn't seen it. He can be so funny and engaging how can anyone not be a fan?

From the FB of a lady who worked on costumes for PTF:
"Just had a call from my friend Susan on "White House Taken". She wants me to "build" a shirt for Gerard, so they can send it to L.A. to try on him. If he likes it, he'll want 15 for the movie."

So are they not starting filming in a couple of weeks? He seems to have moved to Shreeveport. Was hoping they would get on with it now.
