Phoned the box office today. They put less packages on sale to allow for single tix to be bought by donors. It did seem that the packages sold out very quickly. If you are a donor or a TIFF member, you get a slight edge on the public in regard to single tickets in priority of how much you paid and they go on Sale I believe August 25th. I bought the $99 dollar membership which I guess puts me ahead of the $50 dollar membership but rather behind the $10,000 patron. And who knows how big the membership already is. The thing with memberships is they can take 24- 48 hours to process so if you think it will help you need to sign up asap and there may be a rush on that if other people are thinking it will help.

Ok it's official my hotel is book and stuff! So we need to figure out what's happening!! I want to see MGP really bad, and maybe even Cor. if possible. I don't have the slightest clue on working the ticket process. My friend usually does that on her end but she's going to be in Argetina when single tickets are released. Anyone have any advice on this aspect? I really want to see from the Ground Up the U2 doc..anyone want to go with? Message me. Cheers

Canadia only patrons get advance booking on single tix. Castmembers only get advance on packages. I already checked that out as I considered it. It's not right as I do think any member should get a look in before general public.

I agree Lyla, I just figured that out this morning as I tried to order tickets today I was so excited for a moment. I mean the prices actually are pretty reasonable but..........
I re read the benefits of membership. I like to think I am a reasonably intelligent person but I find the whole system very confusing. All I know is I am 0 for 2 in getting tickets in the past. One year I went to the box office early for the public sale, lined up, thought I was in a very good spot, like No. 10 but all the galas were sold out by then. So I am not hopeful.
For a festival that claims to be more accessible to actual movie goers, it actually isn't if you ask me. They should at least let members have one day before the public to get access to single tickets, after the big spenders get their tickets.

Woo-hoo, great, yep, I will be there for both movies as well. Now the hope is to get tickets.... Dawne, I'll be there from the 10th to the 13th, so for both the MGP gala and red carpet and Coriolanus. After reading what Canadia wrote I suspect I'll stand at the red carpet and try to get a glimpse at Gerry...LOL We Wogebufs should try to get together for lunch on the 11th or 12th.... what do you think? It's also my b-day (the 11th), I would like to celebrate with fellow Gerry fans and friends.
