I hope the truck driver movie rumor is just a rumor. That does not sound like a movie that will bring in the crowds.
Gerry really needs to find another project that will really get the public interest.
Whatever he decides next, I hope it is another big one for him. He deserves to be in some great movies. He has had enough down times lately with his movies. It's time for an upward climb in his career.
I wish him the best as always. I know he's drawn to the loss of child, father, family theme because he's chosen those roles many times. Hoping he can get past that and look at the larger picture for continuing is successful career.

www.hollywoodreporter.com/heat-vision/gerard-butler-circling-videogame-adaptation-651814Gerard Butler Circling Videogame Adaptation 'Kane & Lynch' for Millennium (Exclusive) F. Gary Gray is on board to direct the project, which could re-team the duo that made "Law Abiding Citizen." Kane & Lynch seems to be the video game move adaptation with unlimited life points. The Nu Image/Millennium Films project, which has come and gone several times, has Gerard Butler, who starred in Millennium’s hit Olympus Has Fallen, in talks to star as Kane, with F. Gary Gray on board to direct. The move could very well re-team the duo, who last worked together in the surprise 2009 action hit Law Abiding Citizen. Millennium has an offer out to Vin Diesel to play Lynch, but it’s too early to say how that will go. The game follows Kane, a death row inmate who, along with a schizophrenic killer named Lynch, is sprung to retrieve a stolen fortune. Kane travels to Los Angeles, Japan and Cuba, with Lynch acting as the team's watchdog in order to save his wife and daughter. The game was developed by IO Interactive and published by Eidor Interactive. The movie adaptation of game has been in the works since 2007, with Lionsgate planing on stars Bruce Willis and Jamie Foxx, and Simon Crane directing. Gray was involved with one iteration several years ago, but now is back. The script is by Skip Woods and Kyle Ward. Producing are Adrian Askarieh and Daniel Alter. Butler, repped by CAA and Alan Siegel Entertainment, is prepping to star in Summit’s fantasy Gods of Egypt with Nikolaj Coster-Waldau and Geoffrey Rush.

This news sounds more like it's a way for someone to gage public interest in this movie being made. It doesn't sound like it's really in the hands of Gerry or Vin at this point.
Remember not long ago there was a lot of talk about Gerry being in a movie about robots chasing him around. That also seemed like it was for someone to gage interest in this movie idea. We haven't heard another word about it.
As my daughter commented, there hasn't been a movie based on a video game that has been well done or done well in Hollywood yet. I hope this is just a rumor.
Gerry deserves better roles than this type of movie.

JMHO sounds like Gamer or am I wrong? Yes, that came to mind to. Very similar but in this one it sounds like they are cold blooded killers. That doesn't appeal to me in any way. I wouldn't watch this kind of movie normally. I think Gerry has more choices than this kind of movie and doesn't need to go this low. It also doesn't sound like the type of movie Gerry would choose. He generally chooses characters with some redemption or goodness about them. Although in Gods of Egypt it sounds like he will be a very bad man. Hope that isn't the route he's heading in his career.

He has said that he relishes the idea of playing a villain, so maybe this is the opportunity!

Interesting discussion about the latest IMDB rumour (?)moved from the newsbox... Jessie: Rumour IMDB www.imdb.com/title/tt3524682/?ref_=nm_flmg_act_3fifiserafino: That looks like a dream cast! Dede: A cast like that would financially break a film. Looks like a fake to me. teepat: It's now on Gerry's IMDB page for Sept. 1, 2014. I can't imagine a cast that big and well-known. Mucho dollars... Dede: Well whoever "Clementine" is, there's several playing her, or should we say several "choices" to play her! Jessie: Think it is a lot of wishful thinking too. But what a cast that would be. No way a release date Sept. 2014 fifiserafino: winstonchurchill.wix.com/struggletothelight#! Dede: Tom Selleck seems an odd choice especially since he's very busy doing a weekly drama on TV. Sir Sean is over eighty and I believe has officially retired. fifiserafino: very different cast winstonchurchill.wix.com/struggletothelight#!project-development Dede: What I want to know is who the heck is "Putzi"? LOL! Scottishdreamer: IMDB sounds totally bogus. Anyone can put stuff on that site Gersarchitect: From imdb "Production Co: Digital Post Services, HOAX Films, Haddad's...". Hoax films??? Hm. Jessie: Dede , Friend of Hiltler and Roosevelt. Interesting history www.ushmm.org/online/film/display/detail.php?file_num=3367Dede: Is interesting,Jessie, thanks for the info! Still it's all very strange. If you look at the casting person "Carrie Shaw" this is her only film.

Very interesting web-site for this project. I am very doubtful that this project is the real deal at the present time. Sounds like a fantasy cast to me also.
Funny how Gerry is the only cast member that is rumored LOL

Sub-marine movie?? In the new interview from the Hugo Boss event in London - This was the project announced 2 years ago: This project was then put back in play May 20, 2013 | 12:16PM PT I just don't know about 3 films this fall, and Gerry is saying he is filming Geostorm in November, guess since this is a ensemble piece he may not be scheduled until a November shoot. London Has Fallen's noted a December shoot, where in the world is time for another movie

Thanks for the info, Shellie. I had not seen that 2013 Variety article. The film business sure is not an easy one and I often wonder if Gerry is invigorated by the complexities. Think of all the people in all phases of movie-making he is meeting with, talking to, flying off to this country or that. Sorting out the scheduling conflicts, moving beyond acting. Since that is his life, I hope it is a good one for him.
It is difficult to see him doing HK with the other two scheduled--will be interesting to see how it all plays out.
