Gerard Butler secretly visited Moscow Update gallery presentation of the exhibition "perpetual battle" - an exhibition that investigates the causes of conflict within the modern society. The project brought together 10 artists, among them Thomas Hirschhorn, Ida Tursik, Wilfred Mill, Raphaël Zarka. The party lasted six hours. All this time, Butler was present in the gallery: display saw, talked with guests and owners of establishments. This is the first visit of Gerard Butler in Moscow, so the next day he went to inspect the capital's attractions. Truth, namely the stone that the Russian in klonnitsy laid in honor of Butler on the Old Arbat, he never showed. Another guest of the capital this weekend was the daughter of Mick Jagger, a jewelry designer Jade Jagger. She arrived at the opening of the new capital club. And not one, but with her fiance. Despite the fact that Jade - inveterate party girl, that evening, she was shy: Saw quite a bit, and did not go to the dance floor. But a great dancer turned writer Frédéric Beigbeder. He came to Moscow in the middle of the week to introduce a new book, but an invitation to walk on the opening of the club with local celebrities could not refuse. www.trud.ru/article/31-05-2010/243167_dzherard_batler_tajno_posetil_moskvu.html

Until I hear it from Gerry himself I honestly don't see him buying property in Moskow. He Grew up in cold and dreary land I don't see him buying property there. He gravitates to warm and sunny places because he feels good there. I have heard him mention the Celtic Fog that engulfs him time to time and frankly that sounds like the dull drums people get up north when the sun is out so infrequently.

He might buy for investment purposes only, after all if the Russians are investing his films??? Tit for Tat. The reality is I can't see anyone buying any property on one visit unless you've gotten solid advice before hand like his new Russian friends and it is a real bargain. There was one headine that had Gerry buying a whole residential area or maybe that was lost in translation LOL.
I wonder if he does go into visit real estate agencies as a lark or hobby, he knows it will get reported and everyone thinks he loves their city and he is going to move there LOL but in the end buys nothing.

He might need to invest some money and has no plans of ever stepping foot inside the place. Could be residential, could be offices or retail space.

I think you're right, Dawne. I was just checking some info on Moscow and the city was more expensive than New York back in 2008. They are taking some of those "communal" properties that the government had confiscated and are turning them back into HOMES rather than sheeple shelters. The property values have corrected since '08, same as everywhere else, and lots of people are buying. So it would make sense to spread things around... some property in the US, London, Brazil, Moscow. That way you're a little more secure if certain markets take another tumble. People who put everything they had into real estate in Miami have learned that the hard way, same as putting everything into stocks. I do think he's shrewd and of course, probably has some excellent advisors. I hope he does, anyway. Communists and fine art/architecture did not juxtapose very well, I'm afraid. Some of those former Communist countries had the most spectacular buildings that were ruined by the governments in power. I remember being inside one of these places and we went through this gorgeous ballroom with carved gold-leaf ceilings, ornate murals, incredible chandeliers - and then the most hideous, boxy, nondescript seating and grotesque lighted sconces where the former government had created a "theater." The contrast was absolutely absurd. I also toured a castle that had the most extraordinary parquet floors made from over 15 different types of wood... they had housed cows on it and it was completely destroyed except for a few rooms. It made you want to cry. But they used art (or what they called "art") as a means of mind manipulation...read one of Ayn Rand's treatises about romantic art and communism. It's pretty fascinating. They viewed visceral beauty as pointless and even damaging to their cause, which is why their "art" mainly focused on the Worker or the Party. Hammers, flags, guys wearing overalls and that was pretty much it. wow! that's amazing nilla! i've never seen it up close & personal...only in books. meanwhile, yes it is almost rapeish, is it not? what the early soviet communists (as well as chinese communist) had done to suppress the magnificent beauty & artistic expression inherent in their people....by attempting to irradicate & redefine communal pysche...all was squelched and suppressed, forced underground and made hidden. how utterly depressing for these poor souls to endure such a life lacking beauty, spiritual fulfilmnet and self expression through the arts, which is so intrinsic to our very nature! even though gerry's born & bread in scotland....it seems he is drawn to rugged territories (iceland, new zealand??) as well as the tropical warmth. things have changed in russia. this is good. freedom is everything....and should be honored and shared by all for all.

Found at a Russian Gerard Butler fan site 2010 » June » 2 "Gerard Butler was in the club Soho Rooms 02:42 Gerard Butler visited the club Soho Rooms Love Moscow radio on your site shared information: On May 28, Friday at Club Soho Rooms (Moscow) was a party Bacardi Mojito Night. This party, devoted to the opening of the summer season, Ksenia Sobchak, along with Eugene Papuanashvili again ignited in the Latin American dance. When she disappeared, to entertain people on the scene came the guys in the group «Morandi». As soon as the first chords of their most famous songs, «Angel» and «Save me», already decently tipsy crowd was singing along in unison. And finally: in addition to Moscow audience that night was amusing one of Hollywood's handsome Gerard Butler, who played in the movie "PSYA Love You" with Hilary Swank. This I can't read A whole magazine spread on Gerard in a current Russian magazine The title is I am in love with women who make me laugh or we would say I love women who make me laugh gerardbutler.ucoz.ru/publ/2010/dzherard_batler_ja_vljubljajus_v_zhenshhn_kotorye_mogut_menja_rassmeshit/13-1-0-172The magazine is Telenedelya (Moscow) 07-13.06.2010 It is a very nice site, shut out to our Russian sisters, LOL gerardbutler.ucoz.ru/
