I think I will send an email to W Magaziine as well to point that out. Maybe if enough people complained the fashion industry would get the message. But people have complained about the overuse of photoshop by W before and they keep doing it. The best message is to not buy the magazine but they put famous people on the cover and in their pages because people can't help themselves but to buy it even if they object to W's so called artistic vision.
Other magazines can do hot photoshoots without without making the subjects almost unrecognizable.

I remember when I modeled I also did some editing on the side. Some of the things the photogs wanted me to do I felt morally obligated to say no. But it was my job, and you know...I had to do it. I, being a "plus sized" model, always had things retouched on me, but it was things like a hair out of place or maybe a red spot. But being a plus sized model I wasn't thinned out or anything like that. I was greatful. You think it'd be easier for the skinny minis, but alas, tis not.

oh, absolutely agree. why the heck alter two people (already gorgeous) to take on a whole other appearance? i'd be upset if i were the talent being subjected to that kind of manipulation. imagery is very important & a very, very powerful tool. how shall we use it? destructively? positively? which way?
this has been escalating since the 1940's. this is not new as far as creating 'glam'. hyper-reality at its worst. what i find very disturbing and down right scarey is that NOW our technology (which not only diminishs weight, wrinkles, blemises, hair fillers, bone structure et cetera)....can create beings who are literally non-existant. scarey. it shouts wake-up 21st century! are we seeing 'gamer'-like society in it embryonic stage? (gak)

On a similar subject, my husband and I have often wondered how many young men's minds are getting warped from all the fake boobies out there. When he was growing up, the boobies were all real and he likes the look of them -- no balloons for my man. But are the tastes of today's young men being biased to the fakies? Think about it...if the first naked set you see in a magazine are fake, could you be conditioned to prefer that look? Just something to ponder.

We had an intense discussion about this on another board and one guy who is a rock drummer and works as a drum technician for various touring rockbands said Boobs are boobs men love them all no matter what shape or size, fake or real and the other men were agreeing. My sense is there are some men regardless of age who prefer natural and there are some men regardless of age who don't care.

Jen Aniston: W Shoot With Gerard Butler Was "Uncomfortable" Monday – March 15, 2010 – 3:26pm Jennifer Aniston and Gerard Butler look hotter than ever on the April cover of W magazine. But the shoot -- which took place in mid-January on a ranch about 45 minutes outside of L.A. -- was rough. "That was one of the most uncomfortable positions to be completely honest," The Bounty Hunter star, 41, said on ABC's Good Morning America Monday when asked about the cover. "My leg on the left [was] asleep. Gerry's right foot is sound asleep, the pain expression on my face is kind of real." Celeb shutterbug Steven Klein shot the two. He was also the mastermind behind W's infamous July 2005 cover featuring Brad Pitt – who had then-just split from Aniston – and Angelina Jolie as a 1960's-style married couple. When told that her W magazine cover had people chattering, Aniston coyly replied, "I wonder why." As for the scrutiny over her love life, she said she tries to ignore what others say. "Of course, I hear about it!" she said. "You have to get better over time. You have to sort of build up a tough skin." www.usmagazine.com/celebritynews/news/jen-aniston-w-shoot-with-gerard-butler-was-uncomfortable-2010153

I hate to see fake boobs on a girl that is really skinny and have no flesh at the top of the chest and then suddenly they have these two huge balls. Also when they lie flat the boobs just stay poking up on top of the chest when natural boobs fall to the side.

I 100% agree with you. And the thing is, they totally LOOK fake. You can tell when a woman's had a boob job. Dear Gerry, My boobs are all natural... if you like, you can see (and feel) for yourself.

not sure about getting 'W' but, def. will scout out the 'Mens Health/Journal' mag....anyhoo, writing in tandem with the preponderances of 'boobs'....YES. agree with both okie and canadias comments.... men LOVE breasts. we want them to love breast, right? LOL...imagery of what is sexy and what is not sexy is cyclic...for instance, broader shoulders/narrow hips in west has been favorite (similiar to eyptian days)....in the 40s'-50' curves were in, now it seems 'fake' balloon like boobs are popping up (literally LOL) even on immature teenage bodies. THIS i worry about. personally, i am getting a 'boob' job in april (no implants- thank you). can't wait. ha-hum...at my age it ain't over...till its over BUT...i am a fully grown woman, not some pubescent nubile modifying her underdeveloped body before it has time to finish growing....i mean, what happens girls when they're done growing up....more surgery, more plastic, chemicals...when does it end? at what point are they satisfied? nope. bottomless tunnel.
mothers & fathers out there...please guard your daughters & sons from superficial extremes of 'perfection seeking' behavior. eventually....we're ALL worms supper anyway, right?

Is that the only photos? I saw those photos posted elsewhere and I have to say I'm overall not impressed by the photoshoot so far. Gerry looks good though almost not like him at all in that one shot but I was expecting more. I think I could have done a hotter photoshoot. What a waste of hot subjects - I'd almost suspect Brad paid his buddy Steve Klein to uh not do his best work. The last real photoshoot of Gerry from an LA based magazine had far hotter photos of Gerry - I have to look up the name and it was not a fashion magazine.
