All I know is the Gerry has to be exhausted!!!!!!!!! He was on vacation in Cabo and then Rio, but both were not filled with alot of R&R, were they?!?! He comes back to a bunch of meetings in LA, a quick trip to Miami, then to NYC for the Cosmo party and now back to LA for Oscar festivities and press junkets for two huge movies that premiere back to back. Oh, and then he has to actually go back to WORK - which he hasn't done since early August in 2009 (acting that is....he has worked his butt off on projects and the promoting of LAC), but you know what I mean. Anyway, I am a little worried about him. A telling sign would be Gerry getting approached by, what I am sure are gorgeous women, and telling his friend that he needs his space....WTF!? That is not the Gerry we all know, LOL!!! When has Gerry ever told a women he was not interested.... ?? ****just being cheeky**** but I am a bit worried about him getting some rest in. He needs it!!!!!!!!!! You are right Princeton... I hate sounding all mommy, but he is going to get another popped blood vessel in his eye. Gerry but your sweats on one day, lay on the couch and veg while watching sports. It's the male American past time, aside from farting and scratching their balls.....When in Rome you know... Take a "YOU" day. Men, got to love them. Oh, I completely agree. He NEEDS some reaL relaxation. I already offered him my couch, but he has yet to show up? I hate to say this, but I think once he is done with Coriolanus, we might not see him for a while, since he will probably disappear off the face of the earth. Knowing him, he is likely to travel to some remote place and just chill for a while. Looking at all his projects in the coming year, it looks he will be very busy. And it's not like he hangs out doing nothing in between his movies. He is always on the move. I wonder how long it's been since he spent a week in his house in L.A. without doing anything remotely press related. Dianne, I feel the same as you. I worry about him and my mama instincts come out, when I see how tired he looks.

Hmmm in that video footage, he comes back into the pap zone to let some friends in, I recognize the man from photos, he looks like the guy Jemaine from Flight of the Conchordes except without the crazy hair but similar glasses, hee hee and what looked like 3 women, because one of the paps shouts, Gerard can we take a photo of the 2 of you? inferring what that one was his " date" for the event, inquiring minds and all. If she was a date, well it's like being the date of the maid of honour or best man at a wedding, it's lonely, ha.

After Coriolanus there is Machine Gun Preacher and perhaps Burns so I don’t think Gerry will vanish. I suspect Gerry had every opportunity to indulge his more hedonistic impulses in Rio. He was hosting last night and had some obligation to mingle and do a little PR for the AJP cause. Like any good host he had his mind on the task on hand and was not trawling for women. But like a good host he spread a little sugar around. I think Gerry is really anxious to get back to work and on set. Despite the challenges in shooting a film I think he will be very happy to be working at his craft and find it enormously satisfying, far more then the round of PR he is doing right now. The fact he is doing what he loves will be sort of a rest for him, in the way that vacation in Rio was not. He loves his work, and a lot of us can’t say that at all.
And in addition to being very sexy Jon Hamm is also very funny. Like Gerry he has hosted SNL and done a bang up job. He played Tina Fey's boy friend on 30 Rock and was terrific. Hmmm, maybe he and Gerry should do a comedy together, show Ryan Reynolds and Bradley Cooper a thing or two.

Fabulous idea Soph a manly man comedy though Ryan and Bradley are in between the pretty boys/manly man dichotomies I would say. Like the one headline said, Butler and Ham together and the universe and panties explode.
When I watched Wedding Crashers recently I had no idea that gweeby boyfriend of Rachel McAdams character was Bradley Cooper, what a difference long hair makes.....Ryan Reynolds would be a great guy buddy to hang with....

I knew about Machine Gun Preacher being filmed later this year, but what about Burns? I have only heard some vague comments here and there about it, and there must have been talks about this movie since what..2005? Are they ever gonna do it? Do you know? How definite is it? Anyway, I think you are right, that he will be much more relaxed, still busy I'm sure, but relaxed, when he is in his own element, doing what he loves, which is basically making movies. All this publicity he's doing right now, is work for him too, but I am sure he doesn't love it as much as he loves acting.

Well IMDB has Machine Gun Preacher in optioned property status vs Burns in preproduction and a 2012 date on Machine Gun Preacher so it would suggest Burns is farther up the food chain so to speak. But the way Gerry spoke, he was not happy with the Burns script whereas it was reported that Gerry told a Brazilian media outlet that he planned on being in or near South Africa, this summer, during the time of the World Cup, working on a film. The only film we know of that would have Gerry in Africa would be Machine Gun Preacher and all the articles state that MGP is ready to go this year, contrary to what IMDB is reporting. Both films do not have all the financing in place as best we know. If they are filming in South Africa, this summer makes sense because it will be their winter time and thus not as hot. However if Gerry does not make Burns soon, it is going to get harder playing Burns as a younger man convincingly.

It wouldn't be worth making if it didn't. I'd hate to see Gerry make a crap movie just to get it done.

A lot of the trade publications seemed to suggest Machine Gun Preacher would happen at the earliest sometime this year depending on financing. Gerry’s own last comments on Burns were not all that encouraging regarding the financing so who knows? IMDb may have more accurate up to date information behind their pay wall. Here’s the thing about Gerry’s age and Burns. Burns died at 37 in 1784 and probably looked like a 50 year old. People aged quickly in those days, there was crude to non existent medical care. There was no prolonged adolescence; you were an adult at 16 and middle aged by 30, and a senior citizen by your 50’s. If Burns can get off the ground in the next couple of years there should be no problem with Gerry’s age.

But I agree with you, Dianne. It should still be a great script, if not, he will get so much critisism from everywhere and especially Scotland, since it seems this movie has been talked about for so long, and the expectations are so high. Thanks for the Canadia...Well, I guess both movies are still up in the air. The info on both of them seems contradicting, with the rumors on financing, scripts and whether or not Gerry will be in Africa this summer or not. It's all speculation, I guess, and we won't know what will happen for a while. But I am putting my money on MGP being done this year. I can't help it but think that with Gerry growing out the beard, you would think he was going to start filming MGP soon, because he kinda looks like Sam Childers at the moment. Not in the face so much, but with the beard and Salt and Pepper.

Well I think Gerry feels the full weight of the responsibility of doing Burns justice or he could be exiled forever, LOL.
If Gerry could do Coriolanus, Machine Gun Preacher and Burns back to back, he would indeed be able to throw his career into that next level - sorry I love this from Mad TV - a whole-----'notha-------- level.
Of the three, Machine Gun Preacher probably has the most commercial appeal, Burns and Coriolanus are going to be niche films unless they get really really lucky......
But one also gets the sense that Hanging Tale and Slide, 2 Evil Twins projects are moving along with Cameron being attached to Hanging Tale and Gerry appearing to do some research already for Slide.
Slide would be a comedy bordering on romcom - not sure we want to go there too soon, though I love the thought of all these older women throwing themselves at the hunky retire pro baseball player, hee hee -Hanging Tale sound more like a drama, not sure where the Teacher movie is.......at least he has options
And still we know nothing about the Farrelly movie.....
I love Gerry but when you see the most famous portrait of Robbie Burns, James McAvoy is a dead ringer. It is easier for a younger actor to play older methinks than an older actor to play younger.
It all depends on which time of Burns life is being covered - if they try to cover the early years, hmmm, but if they focus on just one part of his life, perhaps near the end or you get several actors to play the historical person at different times of their lives. Mind you I am always amazed at how they prettied Gerry up ironically for Phantom - a lot of makeup and did they shave his face twice day?

now this is funny, the story from this party about the women lining up from Ted C of course making the rounds but this was interesting From Gossaholic.com So does this mean he is dating Jennifer Aniston then – who was also at the party? gossaholic.com/ladies-line-up-for-gerard-butler/Did anyone even realize she was there at all?

There was no mention of JA being there in other more reliable publications that actually had reporters at the event. Doubt they would miss anyone as newsworthy as Jen at that sort of party. There would have been endless speculation about her being there. I think this is a case of mention-itis on the part of this gossip blog.

Very funny column on the party as well as talking to Gerard about Coriolanus A tough job, Gerard, but someone's got to be mobbed by girls There was a tsunami of long-limbed bimbos bearing down on Gerard Butler. Deciding that resistance was futile, he gleefully allowed himself to be swept away by them. Ladies' man: Gerard Butler often finds himself the centre of attention 'You can't run away!' the actor told me, as I counted five women thrusting themselves against him and a dozen more behind them, in the lobby of the Chateau Marmont hotel on Sunset Boulevard, where art gallery owner Nicolas Berggruen was hosting his annual pre-Oscar cocktail reception. Jennifer Aniston, Gerard's leading lady in the forthcoming film The Bounty Hunter, was not part of the wave of women hitting on the Scottish-born star, who has become immensely popular in Hollywood. The actor, pictured arriving, was wearing a beautifully cut Brioni suit, although by this stage - well after midnight - it was looking a little the worse for wear. Earlier, we had been at the Beverly Hills Hotel, where Gerard co-hosted an event for Artists For Peace & Justice, which was backed by Vanity Fair magazine and Brioni (hence the suit, which at 6.30pm looked fresher and sharper). Once he and Aniston finish opening The Bounty Hunter, Gerard told me he's off to Belgrade, where he will star with Ralph Fiennes in Coriolanus. The film marks Fiennes's debut as a film director. He has wanted to make a film of the Bard's great war drama ever since he starred in an Almeida Theatre production at the old Alfred Hitchcock film studios about a decade ago. Gerard also appeared in the title role when Steven Berkoff staged his version. 'I'm playing Tullus Aufidius, the general of the Volscian rebel forces. They're the underdogs and Tullus is Coriolanus's sworn, hated enemy - but Coriolanus respects him. They have shed blood on the battlefield and there's an admiration they have for each other,' Gerard explained. 'Tullus is totally fearless and I'm getting in shape and having fight training. War's not supposed to be fun, but I'm looking forward to making the film with Ralph.' Vanessa Redgrave and Brian Cox will also star in Coriolanus. On Sunday, Gerard will dress up in another suit Read more: www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-1255595/BAZ-BAMIGBOYE-Riding-Sunset-Hotel-gets-set-annual-Vanity-Fair-Oscar-Party.html#ixzz0hLtsrGtA
