I agree Joy, my hubby is the same height and body type as Gerry and he got down to 190 and the bones were beginning to stick out. His collar bones were like razor blades. I would expect that when Gerry is at his fighting weight and all ripped he weighs more than 190... Muscle weighs more than fat.

Speaking of fighting weight...Dana White (Pres of UFC) said that Sherlock Holmes has one of the best MMA scenes in a movie EVER! And G passed up that role. If he would have done that movie, I probably would have died right there in the theater...a very happy woman no less. I wonder if it was timing or training that led Gerard to pass up the role?

I bet it was getting LAC out there that made Gerry pass it up. It just didn't fit in with his schedule. I think it was Burt Reynolds that passed up One Flew Over the Coo-coo's nest and he's still kicking himself to this day. Lets hope Gerry never has that regret.

I heard he was offered the Watson role? But in any event he cannot do it all - doing 2 - 3 films a year is huge, for some that's a breakneck pace when you add on all the promo and prep before hand, and people forget that he has to do promotion for each film and he was producing his own film which took another big chunk of time. And a lot of time it is just timing -and I know that must kill actors - sometimes you can drop out of a film if a better offer comes along, if maybe all the financing isn't in place or something else is gumming up the works, there is a delay that's going to cause a future scheduling problem, but you could be sued for breach of contract and if you do this a lot your rep goes to hell in Hollywood, I am sure many is the time that an actor signs up for a movie only to have a better offer scriptwise moneywise come in the next day, one day too late.

One Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest was a career defining role for Jack Nicholson and frankly I don't think Burt Reynolds had the depth for that kind of role. So in fact the movie might not have worked with Burt in it. Sherlock Holmes will not be a career defining role for Robert Downey Jr. and I have to say I would have never seen Gerry in either role, but I didn't see RDJ until I realize he was teamed with Jude Law and then to me it made sense, that pairing worked in my mind without even seeing the movie.

I really hope we get to see this on our side of the Atlantic; I want to see Gerry in tight breeches (and out of them.. ).
