Assuming his ascendant is now Libra (rolls eyes)...here is his birth chart information in more detail. I am focusing primarily on his way of relating to others....partnerships, whether business or personal....friendships and family. Aries on 7th house cusp You, who can charm others so easily, are attracted to people who are both passionate and direct. You may tend to project your own aggressive and controlling tendencies onto other people and then resent them for it. You cannot be alone. You need partnerships. You form impulsive attachments. You have a knack of pursuing the people you are attracted to without appearing overly aggressive or anxious. Others may marvel at the way ordinarily aloof people respond to you. You unconsciously arouse competitiveness. You are charming, romantic and attractive and need to know that other people like you. Self-assertion frightens you and when circumstances make it necessary you usually feel victimized and over-react. You admire people who are strong and aggressive. Ideally, you connect with people who share your views and are less inhibited than you are about fighting for them. You admire their courage and independence. While they may outwardly appear to be the more dominant partner, this is rarely actually the case. Mars, Ruler of 7th house, is in 4th: Perhaps it is because there was so much stress in your family when you were growing up that a harmonious relationship is so important to you today. Ironically, you often draw people who are strong to the point of controlling and, While the circumstances of your current relationship may be very different from that of family of your childhood, there are some very strong parallels. If you find that as attached as you are to the other person, your natural tendency to defer and avoid unpleasantness creates so much stress and discomfort within you that you actually avoid being at home (lots of "work", etc.) in order to avoid conflict, perhaps you need to remind yourself that for you to be happy in any relationship it must be an equal partnership. If you clearly express your own needs and boundaries, the relationship becomes stimulating, not stressful, and the arguments lessen with their need to exist. Sometimes, in trying to avoid the old parental situation, we unconsciously recreate it in the eternal effort to resolve the original dilemma. You can't. That was then. The old definitions of love and relationship no longer apply. Your conflict is not really with your partner, it is within yourself: your need to merge and connect versus your fear of being controlled. They are not mutually exclusive. Courage. Saturn in 7th You are torn between a compulsive desire for close permanent ties and a fear of intimacy. You may attempt to "resolve" this by becoming involved with people who are either emotionally unresponsive, married or have other commitments or interests. Early marriages or commitments are rarely successful while those formed in mid-life are deep and enduring. Frequently, there is a considerable age difference between partners. For you, relationships - personal or professional - are never casual matters. Moon Trine Saturn with an orb of less than 1/2 degree While you may not be overly demonstrative emotionally, you take close personal relationships very seriously and always feel a strong sense of responsibility and loyalty. You are not a fair-weather friend. When someone needs you, you are always there. Venus Opposition Saturn with an orb between 1 and 3 degrees Since you were a child you have felt you could not just be yourself and be loved. You had to earn your love in some way by being or doing something special. You are far more self-protective than most people realize. Your best love partners are also work partners. Moon Square Uranus with an orb between 1 and 3 degrees You have an emotional, if not conscious, recollection of early emotional nurturing which was erratic or unpredictable. As an adult, you instinctively set up emotional situations where you have some independent outlet - either other people or work projects. Venus Square Mars with an orb between 1 and 3 degrees Yours was not a happy childhood and, while there is nothing you want more than a close love relationship, you may also fear it. You probably have an active sex life but may have some discomfort acknowledging feelings of love, dependence or vulnerability. Mars Square Saturn with an orb between 1 and 3 degrees Your emotional needs were not met when you were growing up and there was nothing you could do about it. Even today, you tend not to express anger or pain or resentment except when you are in an infrequent rage. This is a problem in close relationships. Jupiter Square MC with an orb between 1 and 3 degrees When you were little, your teachers liked you and when you grew up, your employers liked you. You tend to approach all relationships both personal and professional with an easy assurance. It is important to you that close ties enjoy society's approval. Mercury Trine MC with an orb between 1 and 3 degrees Since you were a child in school, your intellectual and communicative skills attracted the attention of those in positions of authority and you were always able to make your way by being exceptionally clever. This facility serves you well as an adult. Moon SemiSquare Mercury with an orb of less than 1 degree You are sensitive to the point of being rather thin-skinned and too easily hurt. You're often being emotional when you think you're being rational and detached when you are expressing how you feel. It's never wise to argue with you until you've calmed down. Moon Sextile Venus with an orb between 1 and 5 degrees Lucky you. As a child you received a great deal of love leaving you not only with the capacity to love deeply yourself but with the security of knowing that you have value and that there will always be people you can turn to. You form love ties easily. Sun SemiSquare Moon with an orb between 1 and 2 degrees Your parents' interests and emotional natures, while not in violent conflict, were so different it was hard to understand how they ever came together. You associate close relationships with both longing and loneliness and may be unclear about roles. Sun SemiSquare Uranus with an orb between 1 and 2 degrees You are restless and independent and, no matter how close you become to someone, you always remain your own person and there is a part of yourself you cannot share. You are uncompromisingly true to your convictions which must be shared by those close to you. Sun Conjunct Neptune with an orb between 5 and 8 degrees You are sensitive and mystical and tend to become absorbed in your own private, imaginative world. If you are fortunate, you have discovered a creative or spiritual outlet for your dreams. Otherwise they may manifest in escapism at the expense of close ties. Moon Square Pluto with an orb between 5 and 8 degrees You had an over-controlling parent and something inside of you decided that no one else would ever have that kind of control over you again. You tend to repress your deepest feelings and fears and are surprised when close ties suggest you're manipulative. Neptune Trine MC with an orb between 5 and 8 degrees You are guided far more by your spiritual ideals than by more material motivations. While intimate ties are important to you, if the other person didn't share your more cosmic goals, the relationship could not last. Your dreams often become realities. Sun does not aspect Asc. People do not receive an accurate first impression of you. Owing to shyness or lack of confidence, you have cultivated a persona which is not expressive of the person you experience yourself to be. This creates complications in personal relationships. Darling G.......

Continuing....
Aries on 7th cuspYou're a real smoothie, refined and ever so facile when it comes to handling other people -- a diplomat. And yet -- despite all of this apparent calm -- you like your partners anything but cool. You can't resist impulsive and action-oriented people -- the more daring, the better. You bring out the recklessness in those you love, and you love it. Although at first meeting one might never suspect this, you love to walk on the wild side. Mars ruler of 7thRelationships tend to be hot and heavy. You are drawn to partners who are aggressive, assertive, and very emotional. Independence and adventure are things you value in others. You tend to depend on your partners to get you motivated and keep you moving. You need someone who is stimulating emotionally. Saturn in 7th houseYou approach relationships with great caution and may even shy away from them. They are not something you are apt to take lightly. If you do enter into one, it is a very solemn business with you, even downright religious. You insist that any bond be a strong one and based on the most serious of reasons. You might just find it easier to join with God and live a religious life than to take a living partner. Not much given to flings, you may prefer to marry late or be involved in a marriage where one partner is much older than the other. Your social life may include priests, ministers, monks, and other very disciplined folks. Moon trine SaturnOthers soon learn how responsible you are, and that they can depend on you for real support. Sure, you are perhaps a little too organized and run more cool than hot, but you really do care and never let your friends down. Whatever you do is built upon a solid foundation, and that includes relationships. Too serious? Aloof? Perhaps, but you are loyal, dependable, and don't enter into relationships lightly. Moon trine UranusYou have a real drive to discover or invent things. You are always pushing the envelope, going the limit. You know it is at the leading edge where all the real breaks occur. You are fascinated by what is happening in technology and communications. Others find you original and nonconventional, especially in your love life. You have your own very original idea of love, emotions, and marriage. You march to a different drummer when it comes to relationships. Moon sextile VenusPeople just naturally love you, perhaps because they sense that you really care for them too. This amounts to more than just a minor talent. You have lots of friends, and many relationships. You're just fun to be around. You may hang out with artistic types, or be one yourself. The feminine, in all of its aspects: fashion, beauty, style, etc., is your cup of tea. You love people and working with the public. Sun conjunction MercuryYou communicate with consummate skill, and it is stimulating just being with you. Your high degree of mental concentration makes you an excellent student, able to excel in speaking, writing, and all types of communication skills. You appreciate a partner who is eager to listen to you and supports what you have to say. Sun conjuction NeptuneYou have a sense of the extraordinary and wonderful about you. People sense that you have an insight into the larger picture, and you can communicate this idea of unity to a group. You are great at working with images, whether psychological, artistic, or cinematic. You probably love movies and music, anything with a grand theme or gesture. You are not just another dreamer. You can put your imagination to work. Your partner may have to work overtime to live up to your ideal of him/her, and to keep you down to earth and away from woolgathering. You need someone who loves to explore the dreamy psychological underside of life. You see beneath the surface of things. Challenges in relationships....
Venus opposition SaturnYou find yourself hampered by authority and elders. Too many rules and regulations may inhibit or put a damper on what your heart feels like doing. You may procrastinate and put off attending to the necessities, with the result that duties tend to pile up. You might be somewhat defensive about expressing your real likes and dislikes for fear of being criticized or cut down. You don't always play by the rules. Mars square Saturn (yikes!)You may have difficulty expressing your feelings, with the result that tension accumulates to the boiling point. You may get the feeling sometimes that situations and other people unite to repress you, to hold you back. You probably have had some really harsh experiences, hard feelings. You feel you must push and strain to get anywhere at all. You would do well with a partner who can help you through the process of getting your feelings out without exploding. Moon square UranusYou are unconventional, at the expense of your own popularity. You did not care to follow in the footsteps of a traditional upbringing, and you may have left some very disappointed parents behind as you set out on your own. Independence and originality for you have been almost a private thing. You have sought it out despite the occasional disapproval of the status-quo. You may be restless and move around a lot. Your desire for personal freedom has always gone against the majority. Venus square MarsThere is a tendency to be somewhat taciturn and reserved; perhaps a little too prudent. You have a fear of letting go that may manifest as an apparent lack of emotion. You don't always like what you are feeling, or own up to it. Moon square PlutoYou have always felt vulnerable when deep emotional issues are brought up, and may have a history of avoiding confrontation and self-examination. You are ever so sensitive to ideas of death, helplessness, and vulnerability in general. You see them only too well, and they haunt you. There may well be some childhood experiences that were rough or harsh for you to accept. Any partner will have to tread very gently when it comes to matters of feelings and security. You may tend to dominate a relationship, but without success.

I wasn't sure where to post this, but this seems the best place. Anyway, I am very fascinated by all things G and very interested in his astrology. Today I did a quick look up on Google: November 13th Birthdays. This came up on the first search. I swear it was written for him - INCREDIBLE and kinda freaky. Read through and tell me if you agree!
***November 13 Birthday Astrology*** Scorpios born on November 13 possess a powerful conscience and a strong desire for personal autonomy. Uniqueness is so important that they may adjust their opinions to deliberately conflict with others! They have a natural dignity and are humorous, spontaneous, and often lucky.
Friends and Lovers November 13 people have difficulty making friends. When they do make friends, it is a complicated process. They seem destined to draw criticism of their love affairs. They often pick partners who are different from them in lifestyle, background, or religious beliefs.
Children and Family People born on this date have a powerful connection to their upbringing. It is possible that they experienced an emotionally transforming period in childhood, which forever marked their development. They may have felt insecure about their appearance or social standing when little. They are strict parents and never allow their more tender feelings to get in the way of what they perceive to be their parental duty.
Health People born on this date believe in taking control of their physical and spiritual well-being. They often follow the advice of a healer, guru, or spiritual counselor to understand the esoteric nature of life. Being healthy isn't a part-time occupation -- it's a lifetime quest.
Career and Finances
November 13 individuals often follow a circuitous path to career success. They may start out in one field, only to be lured into another through circumstances. This appeals to their love of the unexpected. They are careful about money; their careful handling of assets is often born out of a fear that prosperity will not last.
Dreams and Goals
November 13 individuals want to achieve success on their terms. They know their talents, but, no matter what they have to offer, they will resist if they cannot do things their way. They strive to achieve a personal best and have no concern for others' opinions.

For the record, I do not see myself being intrusive when I look into a person's chart. Astrology is an ancient science....and when I'm interested in a person, I look at their chart. Does this mean I know him intimately? Nope!
I garner the information that's out there. It is what it is.
Anybody that comes into this thread and reads it will obviously form their own opinions.
Gerry 's Natural Mate
Venus in Scorpio Applied to Gerry 's Natural Mate
When Gerry was born, the "Goddess of Love" was in Scorpio the Scorpion. So, does Gerry have a thing for venomous folks with stingers? Sometimes it may feel that way, but the truth runs deeper. For Gerry , a gut romantic response to anyone is always tied to that person's capacity to trigger some kind of deep psychological process in Gerry . Gerry won't always consciously plan it that way, but that's the truth of the matter. Gerry likes the promise of tremendous "intensity" in a potential lover, and that kind of intensity is upheld in the long run, among grown-ups, by difficult, psychologically-charged processes that people SUSTAIN between themselves. Therefore, the kinds of human beings who fill Gerry with romantic enthusiasm tend to be deep, passionate, and probing. They probably have "bedroom eyes." They run hot, at least under the surface. And they can work on themselves... as well as on our poor beleaguered hero, Gerry .

y'know while i was jamming with my drums last night under a canopy of elm trees, with other players, bathed in the moons light. thoughts of gerry drifted between sets....and you know pilar...this post
makes me swallow hard
i actually did my 'natal chart' compared to gerry's 'natal chart' ...(thud) and it seems like what you've indicated above. am i scared? no...but, in a million years would i ever bump into this man, be recognized among the throngs of real beauties...huh! time for reality check....LOL
i've resigned myself to 'speak' love to gerry through this venue....its practical, safe (i like anonymity) and realistic...

yep. that's what i mean...it differs. my sun sign is aquarius. my ascendant goes back n'forth between aquarius and capricorn, my venus appears to be in aquarius and moons in virgo. the other houses are mostly scorpio and libra. lots of earth and water in my chart with elements of air here and there. (i was born long island, early morning) you're an 'air' sign = aquarius with a lot of water too? the comparison i did between gerry and myself was astrocafe.com /it said some very interesting things between us. very physical attraction/ mental/spiritual. (at least i can see i'm on tract with being attracted to men of substance) and what is this vedic (hindi) moon charting? interesting. you'd suppose so with the two different halves of the hemisphere. seeing how it is a round planet hence, there will be different perspectives between the two. again pilar, i so appreciate your insights. it is fun and all. but, i really do not adhere to astrology any longer. BUT, none the less...it is fun (smile) thank you.

Here's some more detailed astral ~ anaylisis. For those individuals that feel I get too personal, perhaps you should skip over this. For others, look at it as sort of a canvas.
Away we go....
Introduction to Gerry 's Astrological Profile
Sun in Scorpio
When Gerry was born, the Sun was in the Sign Scorpio, the Psychoanalyst. For Gerry , relating is a matter of primary importance, to be conducted with gut-wrenching intensity. Forget about merely getting under the partner's skin--Gerry wants to go bone-deep. Soul-deep, and there's a need to be known just as profoundly in turn. At best, Gerry offers probing honesty and an astonishing capacity for tenderness. At worst, life with such a person can resemble living with a cross between a laser beam and a can opener, neither of which will take "no" for an answer. Gerry should learn to ask for no more self-revelation than Gerry 's will give in return, and allow the partner to open up at his or her own pace. That accomplished, Gerry 's capacity for a bond of incredible depth and passion is virtually limitless.
Sun in 2nd House
At the time of Gerry 's first breath, the Sun was in the Second House, which suggests a deep quality of "drivenness" in Gerry 's character. Underlying that, there's a sense of personal insecurity, as if Gerry must go on "proving oneself to oneself" forever. This is a delicate subject because, while Gerry does need to make sure not to become compulsive over trifles, we must also respect a few legitimate facts: Gerry has quite a strong need for real, concrete accomplishment. There is a laudable hesitancy merely to "rest on one's laurels." And it's not fair to interpret those parts of the character in a one-dimensionally negative way. One clear bottom line is that Gerry gets along most easily with other people who are willing to undertake mammoth creative efforts in their own lives, and who are thus disinclined to be overly "psychiatric" in their perspectives regarding a lack of some requisite "mellowness." What a lazy person might perceive as neurotic insecurity, a more industrious soul might see as refreshing determination and an impressive commitment to growth and accomplishment.
Moon in Capricorn
When Gerry was born, the Moon was passing through the sign Capricorn, which is associated with a self-sufficient drive toward accomplishment and autonomy, a taste for Great Works, and a capacity for absolute, unyielding integrity. Consistent with that kind of picture, the mood of Gerry 's life is serious and very "grown-up," shot full of realism, plans, and practicality. Intimate life with such a focused soul promises to be an inspiring, if somewhat demanding, experience, spiced with the satisfaction of a growing list of goals accomplished and aims attained, and full of an increasingly precious sense of the inestimable joys of loyalty, commitment and devotion. Those considerable assets might be balanced by certain less attractive propensities of which Gerry may not be fully aware: a melancholic tendency to withdraw emotionally, partly out of self-induced exhaustion, a tendency towards a certain judgmentalness, and just plain "control issues." Gerry doesn't have to be a living, breathing illustration of all that potentially tiresome Capricorn Moon material--but avoiding it requires a willingness to do something very difficult for anyone with this generally rather self-contained configuration: see the self clearly reflected in the mirror of love...which is to say listening to the observations of those who care, and making certain intentional, conscious shifts in character.
Moon in 3rd House
The Moon was also in the Third House of the birthchart, suggesting that a reigning need for Gerry is the drive to communicate. Conversation is nourishment here. Half of that reality lies in the well-developed capacity to put Gerry 's own inner states into words, but the other half is comprised of the ability to be a good listener, and a deep drive for two-way, heart-to-heart, emotional communication. Without such soul-linking through words, Gerry simply never feels very comfortable. In a similar vein, Gerry is hungry for a larger exchange of information with the world at large: Gerry 's nature is curious, full of the child-like desire to remain fascinated with something all the time. Often people with this lunar placement are avid readers, or news junkies, or Internet surfers. And because they aren't bored, they generally aren't boring!
Introduction to Gerry 's Ascendant
Sun and Moon are like head and heart... really elemental, in other words. But there's a third factor that's almost as important. It's the Ascendant, which is simply the Sign that was dawning in the east at the instant a person was born. Quite simply, it represents how you "dawn" on people: it's your style, the way you present yourself.
Ascendant in Libra
At the time of Gerry 's birth, Libra was rising, and thus Gerry wears the "Mask of the Diplomat." As that image implies, there's a poised, attractively graceful, even sophisticated, vibration here, full of composure, aplomb, and the ability to set other people at ease. The Ascendant works like a colored filter through which the light of the rest of the chart shines, so all the interior processes and drives are given this balanced Libran spin as they're expressed--Gerry 's charming, disarming, able to generate peaceful rapport with a great number of different human types. For all the advantages of sharing life with such a magnetic creature, anyone trying to be close to Gerry can offer a tender gift by learning to support Gerry patiently in expressing darker moods more directly. Otherwise, Gerry can sacrifice the reality of deep human connection on the altar of mere agreement.
Introduction to Planets with Special Emphases for Gerry
Everybody's chart contains all the planets, but sometimes a given planet really stands out as definitive for that particular individual...somebody might be like a living, breathing "Mercury," for example. One of the simplest and most powerful ways a planet can do that is just by being lined up closely with any of the three big factors we've looked at already--in "conjunction" with the Sun, Moon, or Ascendant, although conjunctions to the Sun, Moon or Ascendant may not happen in every chart. Another way for a planet to have a particular emphasis is by being "the Ruler of the Ascendant," which is simply a way of saying that the planet has a special relationship with the Sign that was rising when the person was born. In Gerry 's case, here's what we find:
Sun Conjunct Mercury:
The Sun was conjunct Mercury, the traditional Messenger of the Gods. This emphasizes curiosity and language skill, and suggests that Gerry is a person who requires a lot of communication in a relationship. Not of all it needs to be "heavy," though--Gerry is simply energized by the exchange of words and ideas, and holds the identity together with a web of words. Gerry 's attention span--in relationships and otherwise--is long when things are fascinating and full of surprises, but short when they get dull.
Introduction to the Ruler of Gerry 's Ascendant
Our next step is to consider which planet was RULING the Ascendant.
Venus rules Gerry 's Ascendant
Venus is the planetary "ruler" of Gerry 's Ascendant.
The Ruler of Gerry 's Ascendant is in the 1st House
When we look for its location in Gerry 's birthchart, we find it in the First House. That emphasizes that Gerry 's destiny--romantically and otherwise--is very much in Gerry 's own hands, for good or for ill. That has vast implications, but in the relationship department, it tells us two things. First, that for Gerry , serious romantic associations require a clear, absolutely voluntary, choice and commitment--some sort of "jumping over the broom backwards," with no hemming and hawing, no escape clauses, and no endless "French television" about the true nature of love. And secondly, that Gerry , at least, has a right to make such commitments in a totally voluntary, self-determining, unpressured way: no "shotgun weddings" here.
Introduction to Gerry 's Venus
One cannot talk long about the astrology of love without bumping into the Goddess of Love herself: Venus. There's an unfortunate tendency to "feminize" Venus, but a casual glance at the birthchart of any man will reveal a startling fact: males have the planet too! Still, Venus is connected with a lot of behaviors that have traditionally been allotted more to women than to men: tenderness, concern with appearance, romantic drives, the urge to make oneself attractive, how we go about the delicate art of "arranging to be caught."
Venus in Scorpio
When Gerry was born, Venus was in the Sign Scorpio. In affairs of the heart, Gerry is an extremist, passionate and intense, if a bit inclined toward emotional intrusiveness. Scorpio is the Psychoanalyst, seeks in-depth knowledge and craving transformation, and will risk gut-level honesty if the alternative is a relationship that becomes stagnant. With Venus there, Gerry is partial to probing, no-nonsense attempts to forge a relationship which cuts so close that almost no aspect of the psyche is left untouched. So close that both partners might be changed by the contact. So close that they know one another right down to all the skeletons in each others' closets. In courtship, Gerry wants an equally fervent, candid and penetrating partner. If you don't care to know or be known this deeply--or if you'd be horrified by an occasional surprise visit from a bony denizen of Gerry 's psyche or yours--then Gerry will not be your cup of tea. In a committed partnership, nothing destroys Gerry 's romantic feelings faster than a shallow mate who hides from intimacy and intensity for too long.
Venus in 1st House
Gerry 's Venus is also in the First House, which suggests that Gerry 's attractive Venusian energies are both very powerful and immediately quite evident to everyone. Simply said, there is something quite magnetic here--a quality of warmth and sincerity which quickly draws people into feeling open and at ease. One result is that Gerry is sought out socially or romantically by people with whom Gerry may actually have relatively little in common--much less in common than the "suitors" imagine! Unless Gerry learns some graceful tricks for setting firm boundaries, this can understandably put some strain on a primary relationship. Balancing that dynamic, with the emphasized Venusian energy this First House placement promises, Gerry brings sensitivity, tenderness, and a sense of romance to any relationship...precious qualities that can prove invaluable in keeping magic alive in the long haul.
Introduction to Gerry 's Mars
If Venus has been overly feminized over the centuries, certainly Mars has been overly masculinized. Here's the "War God"--a symbol of the heat in your blood, your fire, and your healthy animal desires. It's passionate and deeply sexual. While Venus represents the tender contact of eyes and hearts, Mars is perhaps centered a little further south in the human anatomy.
Mars in Aquarius
In Gerry 's chart, Mars lies in the Sign Aquarius, which electrifies it. With the God of War in the sign of the Rebel, Gerry 's energy is vibrant and charismatic; Gerry is a real "live wire." Gerry 's passions need to operate independently, which means according to one's true nature--not by a knee-jerk response to whatever body type, facial structure or wardrobe that the media have decreed sexy this year. Gerry may need to do some experimenting to find out what this true desire nature is. Being seen and accepted honestly is both an affirmation and a turn-on. If Gerry is making a less than optimal response to Mars, then Gerry 's energy and responses may feel forced, nervous and inflexible. It's difficult to describe any one constant expression of Mars in the sign of the Individualist, but if Gerry 's Mars is healthy, then honesty, a willingness to question both the partner and the self, and originality will all mark Gerry 's erotic style.
Mars in 4th House
Gerry 's Mars is also in the Fourth House, where its fiery energy becomes associated with Gerry 's deepest, innermost core. Peel away the layers of Gerry 's "onion," and sooner or later you arrive at Gerry 's fundamental resiliency of nature. Bottom line, this is a survivor. Gerry is also fervently protective of the home and the creatures who share it. The downside is that anything in this part of the birthchart, while it is very basic to a person's essence, is also often hard to ferret out. Mix that with the fact that Mars is the planet of anger, and we can see how Gerry is susceptible to holding rage inside, building up explosiveness behind a veneer of silence. Gerry doesn't have to be that way, but avoiding the pattern takes effort...and the help of a partner who is willing to get a little scalded from time to time as Gerry finds the balance in this difficult area.
Introduction to Gerry 's 7th House
Classically, the Seventh House of the birthchart is called "The House of Marriage." Any planet or planets that happen to be there give us insight into the natures of our most comfortable partners and friends in life--a subject we'll explore quite deeply a little later on in the report. They also tell us something very significant about what we need to learn and where we need to grow if our intimate life isn't going to read like a gossip column--or the obituaries!
Saturn in 7th House
Saturn is in Gerry 's Seventh House, and that's a configuration that has received more than its fair share of bad astrological press. Traditionally, Saturn is a "malefic" planet, suggesting coldness, estrangement, and mere dutifulness where love should go. That dark prophecy will only come true if Gerry fails to learn the real lesson of the ringed planet--how to take a vow so seriously that the earth shakes when the words are spoken. Saturn is about deep commitment, something of which Gerry is quite capable. It also implies a serious, devoted, sober attitude toward intimate relationships. There is something simply honorable in Gerry , something that seems to be out of another, more ethical, noble era. Probing a little more deeply, we learn that Gerry has some knotty issues to resolve around really trusting anyone. If Gerry blows that, then Gerry may be a "good" mate, doing all the right things, but somehow Gerry 's own heart will never be touched...mostly because it was never revealed. In that nasty (and totally optional!) scenario, Gerry 's mate might sense that something was missing and drift away emotionally; and that is the real source of the miserable "prediction" a fortune-teller might make about this potentially very lovely, stable intimate configuration.
Introduction to Gerry 's 8th House
Everybody older than twelve knows the meaning of the words "chemistry" and "electricity" in the context of sexual attraction. But those words are notoriously difficult to define or predict. We've all been attracted to people who practically had "Dumb Choice" written all over them, but there was "just something about those eyes..." Sometimes of course that's a signal to catch the next shuttle for Alpha Centauri. But other times it's a reminder that, as sexual beings, we are inheritors of an ancient and mysterious biological legacy. While we shouldn't let it totally run our lives, a relationship that lacks compelling passion might not have the "oomph" to get through those inevitable threadbare patches on the road of love. Astrologically, these sexy, confusing matters are reflected in the Eighth House of the birthchart. It describes your "natural lover"--a notion we'll investigate in detail later on. It also describes the qualities that Gerry must develop in order fully to inhabit the primordial, instinctual sexuality.
No Planets in the 8th House
There are no planets in Gerry 's Eighth House. That doesn't mean that sexuality has no meaning for Gerry ! But it does put the focus on the more rational, less instinctual concerns we've already been investigating.

And More...
Introduction to Gerry 's Natural Mate.
What Kind of Person Gerry Likes
Certain kinds of people simply fit Gerry 's style of living, thinking, and being, regardless of their genders--folks who would make good roommates, let's say. That may not be the most exciting idea in the world, but it's absolutely essential to any two people sharing life sanely and harmoniously, without their emotional circuits frying. Astrologically, the Seventh House--the traditional House of Marriage--gives us lots of insight into the kinds of people with whom we simply tend to get along. One way of exploring this House is to consider which planet "rules" its cusp.
Gerry 's Natural Mate Described by Gerry 's Aries 7th House Cusp
At the moment of Gerry 's birth, Libra was rising, as we saw earlier. That means that the opposite Sign, Aries, was on the western horizon--and that's the Seventh House cusp. Now, Aries is ruled by Mars, the god of War...and that suggests that the people with whom Gerry can form the most lasting, stable relationships are ones with "warrior" qualities, balancing Gerry 's more diplomatic, sensitive Libran style. We are not talking about violence or cruelty here, but rather about straightforwardness, pluckiness, and a sense of adventure. These are passionate folks, unafraid of life, impatient with dullness and delay. Gerry needs people who don't mince words. They don't lie. They say what they mean and what they want--clearly, honestly, and with soul. Good-natured teasing, even some argument, may arise and press Gerry 's Libra buttons from time to time in minor ways; that's just static on the line. There is, however, one absolute emotional hair-trigger: disloyalty. Any perceived failure to stand behind Gerry fully in a crisis or confrontation, let alone any full-blown betrayal, kills affection faster than a pin kills a balloon--and just as spectacularly. And that, above all, is why these fiercely loyal warrior qualities are such an essential part of any true soulmate of Gerry 's, and why it's worth putting up with the occasional jagged edges that go along with them.
Gerry 's Natural Mate Described by Gerry 's Saturn in Gerry 's 7th House
When Gerry was born, Saturn was in the Seventh House. Earlier we considered what that meant for Gerry as an individual. Now we turn our attention to the meaning of that planetary configuration in terms of the natural partner in life. Such a person would of course be of a "Saturn" nature, which is to say one who is determined, realistic, and pragmatic. Saturn people generally put a very high premium on their own sense of integrity, and they hook it strongly to their ability to fulfill their promises and commitments. That observation brings us quickly to the deeper layers of this particular astrological configuration. Truth is, Gerry is not much inclined to trust anyone that may be well hidden, but there are some real issues here. And who's going to help Gerry sort through them? What kind of soulmate can make a difference with issues of trust? The answer is painfully obvious: a trustworthy one, of course! That quality is more precious than silver or gold--and for Gerry , it's well worth paying the price of dealing with the Shadow-side of a Saturn type: a certain dourness, perhaps some tendency toward worry or melancholy, and a distinct tendency toward overwork.
Romance
Here we're not exactly talking about sex--don't worry, that's next!--but something less definable and just as important: romance. Maybe a better way to put it is that without the delightfully mysterious entanglement we call "romance," sex usually doesn't interest us for very long. We're getting at some feelings here that are tough to put into precise words, but which loom large in the human heart (and human birthchart!): feelings of fondness and affection, feelings that make our insides fluttery and warm. What kind of person might inspire Gerry to "climb the highest mountain, cross the widest sea?" Or, to put it very simply, who strikes Gerry as "cute?" Unsurprisingly, Venus plays a big part in shaping such romantic responses.
Venus in 1st House Applied to Gerry 's Natural Mate
When Gerry was born, Venus was in the First House, informing us that Gerry responds romantically to qualities of vividness, self-sufficiency, decisiveness, and independence in a partner. No shrinking violets or clinging vines need apply. Ditto for people chronically in need of rescue. Gerry may feel sincere compassion for the "stray puppies" of this world, but there's little that can kill real romantic feelings faster than waking up with such a "puppy!" A closely related point: Gerry is quite attractive and will draw more than a fair share of sexual attention; a partner must be self-confident and autonomous enough to tolerate that--and wise enough to take comfort in the fact that in such matters Gerry 's tendency is to be decisively loyal and committed, even though Gerry , as a classic "Venusian" type, reflexively puts a lot of effort into connecting energetically and psychologically with a variety of different people.
Introduction to 5th House Applied to Gerry 's Natural Mate
Romantic feelings are closely tied to the Fifth House of the chart as well. That's the traditional House of "Love Affairs," and has a lot to do with all the sassy, funny, sexy energies that keep the sparkle in people's eyes. As with the Seventh House, we learn a lot about the Fifth by considering the planet that "rules" its cusp.
5th House Cusp Aquarius Applied to Gerry 's Natural Mate
When Gerry was born, Aquarius was on the cusp of the Fifth House, which makes Uranus its planetary ruler. For Gerry to feel easy about the spontaneous expression of sexuality, it helps to have a partner who is inventive, unpredictable, and for whom no erotic idea is automatically too weird. There is an imaginative, exploratory quality here, with a distinct tendency to giggle at folks with more narrowly bourgeois inhibitions and proprieties. Aquarius is also one of the more emotionally cool signs of the zodiac, and while this certainly doesn't mean that Gerry 's natural bedmate is an iceberg, it does suggest that such an individual doesn't feel that every sexual experience must have a psychotherapeutic chapter in it in order to be complete.
Introduction to 8th House Applied to Gerry 's Natural Mate
Now for the PG portion of our program...
If not absolutely essential to happiness in a relationship, great sex is at the very least a tremendous assistance to it. They don't call it "making" love for nothing! Around our twelfth birthdays, give or take a couple of years, most of us begin to learn exactly how easy it is to trigger those kinds of hot, aroused feelings--and within a few more years we've learned a far more baffling lesson: that they're very difficult to sustain, at least in the context of a long-term monogamous relationship. Whimsical passions are easily found, but what we are about to explore is that much rarer jewel, sustainable passion.
Keeping the heat turned on! Some people don't even believe it's possible--that you inevitably "get over it" and soon settle down to the far more sober realities of arguing over whose turn it is to carry out the garbage. Cynics! Astrology teaches us that sexual energy between two people is in fact sustainable, and that while part of the answer lies inside ourselves (see what we wrote about Gerry 's "chemistry" and "electricity" themes earlier in this report), a significant part of keeping sex alive depends on simply choosing our "natural lover"--a person in whom all the ancient, eternal archetypes of mating and bonding are focused for us. Astrologically, the Eighth House holds these secrets, and one way of unraveling them is to learn which planet "rules its cusp."
8th House Cusp Taurus Applied to Gerry 's Natural Mate
In Gerry 's birthchart, Taurus is on the Eighth House cusp, which puts Venus in the catbird seat as House-ruler. That's the "goddess of love" of course, so the configuration is in many ways an easy, flowing one, suggestive of tenderness and sensuality. Gerry 's natural lover is an earthy, grounded person, not abashed about the physical body, and deeply aware of the wider erotic palette--touch, cuddles, the delights of a friendly, warm, familiar body sharing the bed on a winter night. For Gerry , stability and reasonableness are tremendously desirable qualities in a partner. Only with the sense of an ancient, instinctual, almost biological commitment between them can Gerry open up the deepest, most primal dimensions of passion, which are gentle, tender, and solidly physical when they emerge.
The Moon as it refers to Gerry 's Natural Mate
Finally, we come right down the roots of the matter. Romance, partnership, terrific sex--when they work their magic on us, they are like three rivers flowing into what is perhaps the most basic and ancient of all human institutions: a sense of home. After a while, given hard work and the Grace of God, couples may come to a place where they can "take each other for granted"--in a very pleasant sense of that phrase! No one is going to leave, trust and commitment are total, and (blessedly!) time spent "working on the relationship" diminishes. Astrologically, these deep feelings of comfort and familiarity are represented by the Moon. We've already considered it from other perspectives, but now, with
The Moon in Capricorn describing Gerry 's Natural Mate
Gerry 's Moon in Capricorn, we can see what light it sheds on this most ancient of human institutions: clan, home, and roots. Capricorn is the Elder or the Wizard. Correspondingly, Gerry 's soul is full of seriousness and responsibility, inclined toward self-discipline and the execution of "Great Works." That profile implies some rather obvious points about anyone with whom Gerry could happily share a bed and a roof over the years. Such an individual is one for whom the difficult realities of mature, committed love between two imperfect human beings come as no major surprise. This is a steady soul, one who takes promises with the utmost seriousness, who is not afraid of hard work (on the relationship or anywhere else), and who very likely has a compelling set of interests, responsibilities and projects outside the relationship. While loving by nature, this kind of human being also has a pronounced need for periods of solitude, which complements precisely the same quality in Gerry . They age well together...provided they don't work themselves into an early grave!
Another piece of the puzzle when it comes to these feelings of having deep roots together is the Fourth House--the traditional "House of the Home." One way of getting perspective on this part of the chart is to discover which planet rules its cusp.
4th House Cusp Capricorn Applied to Gerry 's Natural Mate
When Gerry was born, Capricorn was on the Fourth House cusp, which makes Saturn its ruler, and that's the planet of the "Elder" or the "Wizard." Free-associating, we might hit upon imagery of ancient stone towers, dark web-strewn stairways, and musty tomes written in forgotten alphabets. While that may not exactly nail the decor of Gerry 's house, it does capture something profoundly important: any place where Gerry is likely to feel truly at home is going to be a place with a sense of deep roots and a respect for some kind of tradition, and if that home contains some evidence of the lives of 'sGerry ancestors, perhaps even some archeological artifacts, so much the better. No stiffness or stifling formality is implied; only a sense of dignity, roots, and heritage. Naturally, Gerry 's most likely hearth-mate is someone who could not only be comfortable in those kinds of circumstances, but also one who would contribute to them as a matter of course. Such an individual would also display sterling qualities of character: reliability, integrity, and a deep commitment to Gerry , as if half-feeling that together they were founding a dynasty.
Gerry 's Natural Mate Described by Mars in 4th House
When Gerry was born, Mars was located in the Fourth House. We chewed on that configuration a few pages ago in terms of what it meant for Gerry personally. Now let's see what it tells us about the natural "housemate." Naturally, with the war god in the House of the Home, a person who would make a fitting life-partner would share similar qualities of fierce devotion to the "nest" and a willingness to work very hard to make the home everything it could be. There is an explosiveness in Gerry sometimes, and the longer it's held it inside, the more devastating the eventual detonations. Gerry 's natural life-mate is someone who is psychologically equipped to handle that: not simply tough enough to "take it," although that is certainly part of the picture. More centrally, such a person would be willing to go "fishing" for difficulties sometimes. We're not talking about maliciously creating trouble, but rather a willingness to ask questions about areas of conflict before they have a chance to fester. Not everyone can do that, but Gerry 's natural mate does.

Wow! Of course I don't personally know the man, but I can really see him in a lot of this. Oh, and I can see myself in a lot of this too.

It's a lot to digest and may take some a few days to get through all this information.
There are many layers to this dream baby.

like a moth to a light i'm drawn further in.
pilar...miss you terribly. this writing was in-depth, filled with poetic analogies & insights. before your astrological exploration of gerry we just knew how very special he was. you have eloquently put our 'feelings' into visible expression.
as with okie, there are many characteristics you've written about gerry which i am certainly drawn to on many levels. i find my own attributes written here compelling. perhaps what the late joseph campbell wrote of one african creation story where in the beginning there is the 'one' with no beginning nor end. over time became 'lonesome' and birthed itself into two lovers. again, over time they became separated and have eternally searched the cosmos seeking out the 'other half' for unity and completeness. 'like attracts like'...but, the differences are most interesting especially when enmeshed within a harmonious interplay. that's the kicker. years ago i wrote this ditty '...before one can become one with another, one must become complete, so's not to smother'. makes sense, right.
thanks again pilar. miss you, girl. and, just love you, gerry.
