Bonjour! I'm Alison, and I'm 21. From the midwest USA, a history major in a school in East Tennessee, and an actress/singer/writer. I know...one of "those."
Anyway. Hi! *waves*

Hi! *waves* Hi Alison, Thank you for joining and welcome to the site. I'm assuming that's your picture? You are a very pretty gal. I love history as well and am working on my first novel which is a historical fiction/romance. I hope to have it done by the middle of next year and I will be off in search of a literary agent. (crosses fingers). Are you going to pursue an acting career?

Yay! Thanks guys. And I speak a little French...not a lot.
I'm pursuing an acting and writing career, but my degree will be in History and then Archaeology. I'll be in school forever, but I'll be a Ph.D eventually. While I'm in school though, I'll be writing Historical Romances (we have that in common) and Screenplays, and going to audition. Basically, I want to do it all.
And thanks for the compliment on my picture... *blushes*

Oooo. I am into writing too. I was thinking of doing journalism since I would LOVE to be a movie critic. Its my thing. I am not too into history. It happened we repeat it and thus is the circle of life, what else do I need to know. ;D But good for you for not keeping yourself in one field. I would love to act but alas I don't think I would be that good. In highschool I would always laugh. Yes I performed and teachers said great job but I would go through 100 takes before finally composing myself and not making other "actors" laugh. I got da giggles and I can't help myself! ;D ;D

I'm french speaking so I might hurt your eyes once in a while... at least you don't have to listen to me I hope to see you on the board, you seem to be a great bunch of ladies!!!

Welcome Lolita, and thanks for joining! OCD is quite a fun board. I'm going to get a clickie soon so there will be a direct link from here to there. Anyway I'm not sure how familiar you are hearing English spoken on a daily basis but for some of our friends here that English is not their first lanuage, I have written text with the latest interviews...I have Jay Leno's recent and two other ones. I was surprised how much I got out of the interviews after I wrote them down. They are located in the Gerard Butler section.

I'm a Viking and Celtic history lover. Around that time period...
And I'm actually officially getting off my feet for acting. I actually have contacts in "Her Majesty's Theatre" in London...the one with Phantom. Ramin Karimloo, the current Phantom, has become a friend of mine, and he's amazing. He even sang at ALW's birthday party!
Anyway! Even if I never marry Gerry, (and since I'm 21 and single, anything's possible...lol) I'd love to be in a movie or play with him someday, and that's not stretching it too far. And actually, I'm looking at his Alma Mater for grad school. NOT because he went there, but because it offers what I want.
I was actually pre-law when I entered college, but not anymore. I've cycled through a theater minor and French minor, but decided to just stick with my History major...even though I'm very active in theatre and music. In fact, just yesterday I received a part in a local production called "Saving the Greeks: One Tragedy at a Time." I'm Clytemnestra and a part of the chorus. Yay for making my resume better and better!

But dropped out. I couldn't take how the life seemed to suck out of the people. And they were my mentors and they were telling me horrible stuff. But alas I went into computers instead of acting. lol

Hi Alison! I'm Margo from Greece ( Sassenach is a nickname i choose in sake of "Outlander" saga - actually that's a novel set in Highlands of 1700). So glad you decided to "Save the Greeks" - Way to go girl ! IMHO, Greek tragedies are the best stuff for acting AND thinking over universal issues that has been eternal. Now, you're a little bit too young for portraying Clytaimnestra, yet someone has to start from something, right ? My brother's name is ( really!!) Agamemnon (go figure !!!) but fortunately his wife's is NOT Clytaimnestra....IMHO, the Queen Clytemnistra was a very tragic figure ! She was betrayed and cheated over and over by her husband, the King of Mycene, so she acts the only way she has.... What tragedy will you perform ? I'd like very much to discuss whatever you wish about Ancient Greece and theater. I'm a teacher in Kindergarten, a member in an amateur Theatrical group and a HUGE lover of History and Archaeology.... You can send me a PM.
