We just had a tweet about Gerry potentially being in Japan later this month. twitter.com/mayu888OHF opens there on June 8 so a PR visit makes sense. Since Gerry believes in The Secret and the Law of Attraction, I think we should try to focus on this visit happening, hopefully with Aaron in tow as well. In that positive spirit of making this visit a reality I am starting this thread, heh heh heh! :-)

If this is correct news, I would imagine Gerry would be going to Japan alone since Aaron has his own new film ERASED coming out next weekend. He will probably will be doing his own PR tour. Our dynamic duo may have ended.

OT but I saw Erased because it was available in Europe for about a month or more now and it is really really good. Old time fashion thriller that depends on the wit and strength of the characters and not special effects. Anyway, Erased opens on May 17 and the tweeter said G is expected in Japan end of May so Aaron could still make it. But the important thing that at least G goes and we get some nice interviews. The Japanese can be rather creative and entertaining. G has not been there for many years and his fans there deserve to see him after all this time.
BTW, any idea if OHF has opened in China? Now that would be a huge market.

I think going to Japan would be good and even more so for China. Both are good markets for Gerry.

OMG, that was a great interview. Gerry was game for anything in those days, not the big HW star yet. Ah the good old days. Although I have to say that judging by the latest photos he seems in a really good and playful mood so who knows. Japan could turn out to be great.

OMG. never seen that interview. Great, funny and amazing. What happened to the man in that interview.?? Gerry was really feeling a downturn in his career when he went to Japan to promote Dear Frankie he had not yet been able to secure any new projects after POTO was released in December 2004. He had just finished filming Beowulf and Grendel right before the PR push for POTO started. Dear Frankie was filmed prior to filming POTO along with Game of their Lives even though both were released after that movie came out to capitalize on POTO. Unfortunately POTO did not materialize in being a big hit as expected and Gerry took the major hit for it not doing well. I think the adoration from the Japanese fans who LOVED POTO and it was a MAJOR hit in Japan, meant so much to him. It is funny, a lot of criticism was flying in Gerry fandom over his weight gain when they saw this video they felt he had let himself go. Gerry got cast in "300" after he returned from Japan and after 300 filming was completed he did PSILY & Shattered. The rest is history.

I'm hoping I copied this, but I loved the sincerity of this interview too.
