Very interesting article from BBC... I'm sure we all noticed that recent HW films are "thin" on steamy scenes...

Hollywood cuts sex out of scripts but have you noticed?
The number of films containing sex over the last 18 months has dropped but have cinema-goers noticed?
According to the president of the film division of market research company Ipsos, there has hardly been any sex in movies released over the last 18 months.
The more we see, the more blaze we get, the more nothing surprises us. It is unnecessary, it's something that people should have at home
Olga Kurylenko
One of the reasons being cited is that films with fewer sex scenes mean a more family friendly and potentially more people paying to see it.
But have actors noticed?
Spring Breakers, The Paperboy and Gangster Squad are just a few of the most recent releases which have sex scenes in them.
Actress Andrea Riseborough stars alongside Tom Cruise in Oblivion. Their sex scene is more shadow and soft lighting on bare shoulders.
Fellow Oblivion star Olga Kurylenko says sex in films is not always necessary.
"The more we see, the more blaze we get, the more nothing surprises us," she said. "It is unnecessary, it's something that people should have at home."
'Never realistic'
Director Joe Kosinski says people definitely don't want to go to the cinema for sex.
"Scenes in this movie, I wouldn't call them sex scenes," he said. "They're very romantic and I think that's what people really want. They want romance."
The Dark Knight actor Aaron Eckhart says if he was in charge of a film and there was a sex scene, he would cut it out.
"I don't know if they're effective any more especially with the internet," he said. "I'm sort of for the case of the diminishing sex scene.
"They're just so boring in my opinion. they're never realistic and the actors always feel awkward doing them.
"I'd like the whole family to be able to go and see the movie. And I think if we can make it as family orientated as possible, it's a good thing."
The problem with the sex scene is they've been done so many times and there's only so many ways you can do them. It really has to be relevant in terms of the script
Gerard Butler
Gerard Butler's latest film Olympus Has Fallen features more violence than anything else, but as an actor, he says he wouldn't be too happy if sex was cut out altogether.
"I am in the middle of a huge campaign to get them back in," he said. "I am one of the actors who thoroughly enjoys doing them.
"The problem with the sex scene is they've been done so many times and there's only so many ways you can do them. It really has to be relevant in terms of the script. "
At this year's film and comic convention in San Diego, ComicCon, there was some discussion about the necessity of the "uplifter".
A specific scene where a female cast member walks in on a male cast member while he's getting changed and revealing his toned abs, all accidently of course.
