Thank you so much, Tinkerbell. I can't see the interviews, but the sound is there - and that's better than nothing, so thank you!! M

Then you don't have the right codecs on your pc. I could give you a long difficult lesson on that but try installing VLC player instead. Most video pro's use it because it's free and plays anything. www.videolan.org/vlc/Especially now that I can get my hands on HD videoclips you don't want to miss Gerry jumping almost off your screen.

Tink is right, VLC is the best option. Once u have downloaded it, right click on the file u want to play, choose "open with" and the choose vlc player. The reason you only get the sound is because the file probably opens with windows media player.

Thanks so much Tinkerbell and Terez for the info on the video player. There were a couple of the .avi files that wouldn't open in either Windows media player or the HP player. was going to ask about the codecs but the VLC player sounds like just the ticket.
Sometimes I think I live for Gerry interviews--getting to know about him watched as many as I could find, many, many times and still do. After being disappointed when some of my favorite interviews disappeared from youtube after the tv network police got to work, I realized I needed to get these on my own computer and am learning so much about it from you.
I think it was you, Terez, who has said that there are downloaders available to download the youtube videos like your WO interviews, but don't know where to look here to find the discussion.
Thanks again, ladies, for taking the time to upload and to share your knowledge.

It works on YouTube and you can easily download the videos you want. Realplayer works fine on YouTube but it doesn't always work on other sites. I use Replay for those cases. But I had to buy that. No need for you to do that because I upload any new interviews on WO channel and then you can download them with Realplayer for free.

Do you know if there is a way to download and watch the videos on an iPad? I tried, it doesn't work. I have an anscient slow laptop computer so I do most of my Internet stuff on the much faster iPad.

I did some searching and apparently the iCab browser allows downloads. I checked and my mp4 files are the right format for ipad.

Hm, not sure if it works. It tells me it takes three hours to download an mp4... So either my Internet is really slow or something else isn't working right. Thank you for your advise and hard work though. I keep trying.
