Sad but true, I had the time to see CM one more time before it disappeared from a big screen near me today. Yesterday, the theaters still had it listed, showings limited, but still playing. Today, however, it is gone from the area and does not seem to be playing anywhere within my reach. Guess the only thing to do now is wait for the video to come out and change my focus to PFK. Sorry fellow Gerry fans in areas where CM has not opened, even though we all went to see it here as many times as possible (3 for me) in hopes that would help get it into the international markets, it appears that was not enough. Maybe our friends in Russia will be more successful, and it's recognized there for the wonderful movie that it is, thereby acting as an incentive for other countries to get on board. So sad............

So sad............ I think PFK will do well at the box office because of the subject matter and his cast. Everyone wants to see a nice family movie at Christmas and families will enjoy this one. It has all the elements of a successful family movie...an adorable little boy, handsome leading man, don't forget Jessica Biel and Catherine Zeta Jones. It should be as successful at TUT. CM is a good movie and Gerry should be proud of it. He wanted to do a surfer movie that pay tribute to the dedication of surfers and it that he was successful. At the end of the day Gerry picks scripts that interest him and he is passionate about.

Shocked that CM is still playing at a few theaters in my general area so maybe I can sneak another show in this weekend.
I think PFK will be treated really well by the press and wish CM had been treated well. I hope Russia enjoys a nice California surfing movie in the COLD weather. I can imagine a movie about California is a welcome sight over there!! I hope so!!!

Sadly, CM has disappeared from our theaters, as well!!! It's such a shame because it was sooooo much better and rated so much higher than many of the movies that came out at the same time as CM, yet they are still playing in the theaters!! Oh, well......in less than a month, we can concentrate on PFK!! Kneum

I also think it has disappeared from our theater here in the town that I live in. I can't understand why did not do as good as everyone was hoping it would. It breaks my heart. I feel bad for Gerry because he put his heart and soul in the movie like he does in every movie he makes. I am just hoping that Playing For Keeps will be a hit because Gerry needs one. They are advertising it on cable. Last Saturday I saw it on USA, earlier this week I saw it on ABC during Good Morning America. and I saw it saw both times I went to Chasing Mavericks

It's not playing here anymore either... Sigh. How disappointing. But there is no awareness of that movie so how can it do well if nobody knows about it....

I just checked and it's still playing here, four times a day! It must be doing well. I wish I could get out to see it again...Oh, well, at least I got to see it once.

According to Box Office Mojo, Chasing Mavericks' total as of 11-11-12 is $5,253,910. It is still playing in some theaters where I live. I think it is suppose to open in some International theaters 11-15-12 with a new distributor. I read that somewhere here.

Thanks Fifi. Disappointing .. I'll just assume that I'll have to wait for the DVD release in Australia.
