IMDB has added a new movie to Gerard' IMDB page today after removing Teacher Man yesterday thanks Shellie for the huge tip.
It is to be a remake of the 1981 movie of the same name by director Bryan Singer.
They have Gerry listed as rumoured and only one other actor attached but I get the sense this might be the next movie as this is already in preproduction which means it is farther along than anything else currently in the pile.
I am trying to do some quicky research and see what history this project has or had.

Yes Tinkerbell we have 2 competing movies. This Bryan Singer directed one which is a remake of the original 1981 movie and Guy Ritchie where it is a whole " retelling" of the legend.

Wow, 2 Excalibur films and both are coming out of Warner Bros. I like Guy Ritchie's project but either film would be fine with me. Let's hope Gerry is attached to one of them, I think this is a great project for Gerry.

Wow...I can totally see Gerry in a movie like this...he'd be awesome as a knight.
The chain mail outfit in Beowulf & Grendel was hot enough...can just imagine how good he'd look in a knight's regalia...be still my beating heart!

Hopefully Gerry does this, I'm with GSG, I want to see him as a knight. And if Guy Richie is directing, it'll be a good project for Gerry to tie his name to.

Well I still wonder if they have GB attached to the wrong Excalibur.
This article seems to be back from early March. Singer was supposed to direct X Men but has been replaced by Matthew Vaughan, he is supposed to be working on a film called Jack the Giant Killer first and said he couldn't direct X Men First Class until 2012 so 20th Century Fox has replaced him because they can't wait - considering his success with the franchise so far hope they don't regret.
However according to IMDB Pro has a Feb 2011 start date on Jack the Giant Killer - and the script is still being written. And it sounds like Excalibur does not even have a script ready, they just got the remake rights from Boorman.
Guy's Sherlock Holmes 2 is scheduled to start in October 2010 so right now Guy does appear to have the lead, LOL, maybe. His Excalibur is listed in pre production as the script is ready but no start date as yet. Wonder about the Ellis script though this is a guy whose thing is comic books.

I was wondering the same thing, maybe since it is still a rumor maybe it was attached to the wrong Excalibur. I give my vote for Guy Ritchie's project it sounds like a different take on the legend and I like to see Gerry do another film with Ritchie. RocknRolla is one of my favorites.

He'd make an EXCELLENT King Arthur. And wasn't Arthur supposed to be half-Celt/ half-Roman? I'm trying to remember from "Mists of Avalon." (Terrific book, BTW.) G would be perfect.

I do get a sense we are going to get some announcement soon about what is next for Gerry, he's about 1/3 of the way through filming MGP, surely more definite news is coming soon.

I will chime in with my 2 cents: I'd LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to see Gerry in full knight regalia -- he's one man who can DEFINITELY carry off that look!! Yee-umm!!

And....let him use his real Scottish burr!! OMG! That would be sooo damn hot! I am so with you on that!!!! I wonder if he will get King Arthur or Lancelot? I am leaning toward Lancelot, I can hardly see Guenevere cutting out on Gerry's Arthur.....

Me too. I would love to see another movie where he can use his own accent in a role and that Scottish burr makes my girlie parts tingle.
