Hugh Grant and Gerard Butler might be duking it out for the $15.45 million penthouse triplex at 54 Bond St. in NoHo. Both actors have checked out this grand, three-bedroom, 4,862-square-foot bachelor pad on a charming cobblestoned block. Developer Adam Gordon says the entire building is also for sale at $32 million — and can be turned into an 11,000-square-foot, single-family mansion (plus retail space), with the basement used for storage or transformed into a lap pool. Gordon bought the cast-iron, landmarked structure, which dates back to 1874 and is also known as the Bouwerie Lane Theatre building, for $15 million in 2007. TIME TO BOND: Hugh Grant and Gerard Butler (inset) both paid a visit to 54 Bond St. The penthouse has swirling mahogany staircases where a craftsman molded each piece of wood by hand. There are two full gourmet, dine-in kitchens — one with an adjacent wine-tasting room. The penthouse also includes 1,277 square feet of outdoor space, including a roof deck and a terrace. Wow that is absolutely stunning! Great find Canadia, two Karmas. I honestly think that Gerry needs this home considering that Hugh does most of his entertaining in the back seat of his car down a seedy alleyway. Sorry Hugh...

This location is so great too. Two of my favorite restaurants are on Bond Street; 6 Bond - which is this amazing sushi place (I saw Sarah Jessica Parker and Mathew Broderick there) and Ill Bucco (which is this tiny little cottage style VERY romantic spot). I go to these places alot so maybe if G moves here and that a big maybe considering he just finishes his 'dream' pad in NYC recently after many years of work, I would run into my dream man

Well someone from another board did imply that Gerry was looking for new digs in NYC quite a few months ago but that he was looking in the Central Park area. Clearly if he is looking for new digs he probably hasn't settled on anything yet, for the kind of money involved one would take one's time in making any decisions.
I had not heard the term Noho before, LOL. Now I know what it means. The history of the area makes it special as well. Of course staying in that area keeps him close to Bryant Park, ehem.

And ever the skeptic that I am, the developer may very well be trying to drum up interest in his property, mentioning a couple of celebrities have seen it is a pretty good marketing ploy too.
If Gerry puts his other place on the market we'll hear about that too, high profile real estate transactions always seem to make the news.

Well unless you sell under a private listing it is a matter of public record. And I imagine that the real estate agents used the celebrity cache to sell the property if they can.
Oh yes it goes without saying that is probably just the developer drumming up business because I can't see that Hugh or Gerard would be happy about their new potential address being broadcast to the world, not at this point of the game, though I imagine once they moved in people would know. One imagines they weren't interested so now the real estate agent can name drop without blowing the deal.

This, to me, seems more and more like it was set up. Maybe they came and saw the apartment, and wasn't interested, and the realtor decided to run with it for the publicity. Looks gorgeous, though. $15??? Wow, Gerry is doing well for himself these days. Good for you G!

Another Karma, Canadia... I swear, I never forgot Hugh and the prostitute, but it hasn't seemed to hurt his career.

Hugh did his mea culpa quickly and honestly and he does keep himself out of the taboloids now, probably since he broke up with Liz Hurley - I think the incident with the prostitute was the beginning of the end of their romantic relationship though I think they are still friends and did remain business partners for a while there after they split. Beyond a report that he was rather inebriated with another Hollywood actor at some chic LA bar sometime before his latest movie came out, I never heard much about Hugh.
But poor Hugh they couldn't find a better stock photo is that a subliminal message that they would rather Gerry get the penthouse.
But the price boggles my mind. What does a mortgage on a $15 mill property look like I wonder and that house in LA could not have been cheap though much cheaper than this penthouse.

I think Gerry might be a lookey loo, he has mentioned on several occasions admiration for the old architecture of various cities he’s visited. And it’s known he took some time and care with his loft. One interviewer found him on his hands and knees inspecting the tile work at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel because the tile work was like the tile in his LA home! I wouldn’t put it past Gerry to check out a condo in a building like this just to see what it was like inside a cool old building, even if he had no intent to buy. And of course he would be granted access.

It is amazing what people can do with properties. The Hotel in Leather Heads where George Clooney and Rene Z. meet is here in Downtown Greenville South Carolina. When we moved the the area the building had been condemed and you could see from ground to the sky. It is now restored to it's origional splendor.
