I prefer period clothing...after all I do love a good renaissance festival so add Gerry in a movie with period clothing & I'm in heaven. Seems like it's going to be a modern version like Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet. I'm excited but they sure are taking the fun out of it with no period costuming.

Latest article says Gerry due on set in late April??? What else does he have to do though? Or maybe Ralph switched up his schedule. english.blic.rs/Culture-Showbiz/6295/Serbian-special-forces-train-FiennesSerbian special forces train Fiennes A. Novakovic | 14. 04. 2010. - 10:16h | Komentara: 0 The filming of Coriolanus, a directorial debut of Ralph Fiennes, is attracting global attention, while interesting details from the set in Belgrade can be found on various movie web pages. Among these are Fiennes’ insight into how he has prepared for the role training with Serbian special forces. Judging by the extent of involvement by film-lovers on various forums, everyone is eagerly awaiting to see Ralph Fiennes and Gerard Butler star in the latest adaptation of Shakespeare’s play. Although he has appeared in action flicks before, Fiennes will experience fight scenes in urban conditions for the first time ever, in the preparations for which he has been aided greatly by Serbian special forces and an anti-terrorist squad. - “The soldiers are fit and ready. They need to have high efficiency in the way they move and act. The members of the special anti-terrorist squad have been teaching me how to move the best possible way, how to assume a position, move alongside corridors and handle weapon. Everything revolves around spontaneous efficiency and plenty of practice. As for me, I’m trying to comprehend the mental process going on in their heads while they are in the middle of a battle and in life-threatening danger,” Fiennes explained the techniques he is employing while preparing for the numerous fight and battle scenes from Coriolanus. Fiennes is used to top physical preparations for a role. He exercised in the gym every day for months in order to prepare for his part in Red Dragon, while he put on 10 kg for his portrayal of German officer Amon Goeth in Schindler’s List. Besides Coriolanus’ relationship with his mother Volumnia (played by Vanessa Redgrave), Fiennes says a key aspect of the play is the relationship between Coriolanus and Tullus Aufidius, the general of the Volscian army (Gerard Butler). - “Male rivalry is of key significance for the character of Coriolanus, while Gerard is perfect to convey that terrible threat,” said Fiennes. The filming of Coriolanus began on 15 March in Pancevo and continues today in Uzicka street in Belgrade, while Gerard Butler is expected to arrive in late April.

Actress Vanessa Redgrave visits Belgrade British actress Vanessa Redgrave arrived in Belgrade on Tuesday and joined the cast and crew of Coriolanus, and shot scenes on Wednesday on set in Uzicka street in Serbia’s capital. The 73-year-old actress first visited Belgrade in March, when she spent three days shooting at White Court, after which she returned to the UK. The on-set filming process of Coriolanus began on 15 March in Pancevo, while Redgrave plays the part of Volumnia – the mother of Roman general Coriolanus (Ralph Fiennes). Under the influence of his mother, Coriolanus tries to enter the Senate, but after this plan falls through, he causes political upheaval and is consequently banished from Rome. In order to wreak vengeance on Rome, Coriolanus joins forces with his sworn enemy Tullus Aufidius (Gerard Butler), the commander of the Volscian army. Although Vanessa Redgrave has suffered two family tragedies in the last 12 months – with her daughter Natasha Richardson dying last March after a skiing accident and her brother Corin dying only days ago – the acclaimed actress is back to making movies. Besides Coriolanus, Redgrave has been hired to play Queen Elizabeth in Roland Emmerich’s latest film, Anonymous, where she will appear alongside her daughter Joely Richardson. Also, Vanessa Redgrave rumoured to have been employed to play opposite John Rhys-Davies in drama Poets Never Die, directed by Stavros Sideras. english.blic.rs/Culture-Showbiz/6301/Actress-Vanessa-Redgrave-visits-Belgrade/print

Is that from An English Patient? I liked the movie but I didn't like her. This is mean but I felt no sorrow when she died. I thought she was a player. I thought the way she died was karma at work. All I can say is don't piss Colin Firth's character off, he'll try to crash a plane into you.

A Serbian poster over at JJ clarified It is stated that he arrived before the noon and that he already filmed some scenes with Ralph today. He will be in Serbia until the end of this week.He will stay in presidential apartment which is 250 square long with piano, marble bathroom, sauna and he will have his own butler for 24/7.LOL Butler will have butler.LOL It is stated also that he arrived thanks to his assistant (Alan perhaps) who manage to book places despite the mass at airports in Europe. He changed two planes to get to Belgrade and it is said that there were no big fuss about his arrival.I think that there will be if his fans in Serbia were informed Read more: justjared.buzznet.com/2010/04/18/gerard-butler-hybrid/comment-page-18/#comments#ixzz0lhEeXYj4

Alan is like a magician or kind of? by the way, Spanish and Italian airports were half open, so I guess it was not so difficult to get to Belgrade using Rome or Madrid as hub. The problem is for people who have to come to UK or North Europe.
P.S: presidential apartment?? LOL

Wow, he looks insanely hot!!! Yes, Prince...Angry Hot Gerry is definitely good. He will look even hotter in the army outfit...
He's only staying for a week? How many scenes does he have? Or are they only filming in Belgrade for a week and then moving on to another location, perhaps?

another article on Gerry's arrival with old photos darn svetplus.com/vesti.asp?vid=1040 The translation is rather iffy Gerard Butler asked tobacco greaves Wednesday, April 21, 2010. 11:06 One of jajpoželjnijih actors Gerard Butler, yesterday arrived in Belgrade and joined his team on the movie "Coriolanus." Being located in the Belgrade Hyatt Hotel, the hotel staff asked him to bring a lunch Serbian specialties such as: cream, barbecue and tobacco èavarke. After not drinking for 12 years has been omitted Serbian plum brandy and homemade wine from their menu. The only change that could see the famous actor landing at Belgrade airport is to let go of his beard and mustache. Directly from the airport to the hotel and went to the special measures provision is located in the presidential suite. As will be held in Belgrade to keep two months, hotel staff received detailed instructions about the famous actor desires. This includes trouble-free operation in a gym and wellness part, because since he left a smoking, exercise, causing him the greatest satisfaction. As is well known Butler in the film plays the character Tulus Aufidijusa, Koriolanovog blood enemies. In addition to Gerard in the movie will still find Slavko Stimac, Dragan Miæanoviæ, Danijela Vranjes, like many other famous actors.
