I'm sending out good vibrations....I just have this hope that I will see him in NYC this weekend....don't know why, but a girl can dream. Am I nuts? Maybe he'll pop over, since we know he can't stay in one place for too long. If it were a girls' trip I would probably stalk his apartment/loft, but it's an anniversary trip! I don't want to be THAT fan....here's hoping!

My adventure at meeting Gerry started on July 14, 2010. Me and my daughter met Kloudancer in a White Castle Parking Lot right across the street from the Crossroads Bar where Gerry was filming. Right next to the bar was a very seedy motel, (the kind that rents out rooms by the hour). We decided that getting a room at that motel as distasteful as it was would be a great idea because at least it was a place to use the rest room and since it was going to be in the low 90’s at least it had and air conditioner we could crank up. We did not intend to sleep there… Ewwwww! So we went inside to rent the room and this gal behind the desk looks us up and down. We were not her average clientèle and she says, "Wouldn't you ladies want a room at the Comfort Inn up the street?" LOL! Imagine the clerk trying to talk us out of a room and wanting to send us to a nicer place? Here's a picture of us in that horrible room. So anyway first thing we do is crank on the air and then check out the bathroom.... And imagine our surprise when we realize the bath room looks out over the set. Here is our view from the bathroom window. The motorcycle on the far end is Gerry's classic Harley he rides in the movie.

These are three biker extras, they got such a big kick out of the attention and were very nice to us. The one with the beard insisted on signing my poster... In the heart...Bubba. So we continued to watch the guys set up out the widow, and we have the window wide open. We're waving at the guys and they are friendly and waving back and finally three guys approach us looking in charge and they say, "Ladies, this window is going to be in the shot we will be taking, when we start shooting could you please close the window but you are welcome to watch until then. We will signal you when we are beginning to role." So of course we readily agree and we continue to watch and after about five minutes Gerry walks on set and walks to that rusted out old Pinto. He glances at us and we are taking pictures and he kind of smirks then ignores us. You can imagine we are all (my daughter included) having a heart attack. It wasn't a couple of minutes later they ask us to close the window, so we decided to go out and find the other fans.

So as I mentioned in the other thread, when we found out out window was going to be seen in the movie we tore off a piece of my poster, (a small corner) and taped it to the outside of the window. This is a picture taken by a Paparazzi and it happens to show the piece of paper we taped to the window.... Really surprised when I saw that...LOL!!! This is the sign I made. I actually thought it was a little goofy, but I knew it would get his attention. I was getting everybody else's attention but not in a good way. I guess a couple of gals rolled their eyes, most didn't know it was a web site they thought I was labeling myself a weirdo . One Lady made a snarky comment that I would ruin it for the rest of them with that sign! A police man got a kick out of the sign and took a picture... And well they didn't know nor understand until I explained it was a web site and I wasn't saying I was a weirdo... LOL!!! I mean without the huge orange sign I don't look weird.... Well most of the time. So almost as soon as we met the other fans we had to back down the street because they were filming and they didn't want any fans to interfere with the shots but after we were done they said we could come across the street and watch the activity while they were setting up the next scene... I finagle my way in front of the pack holding the sign and Gerry walks out. He is about 400 yards away, and he turns toward us and waves. Then he stops dead, points right at me and asks me to show him the sign... I had it a little crinkled cause some gals in back were complaining it was interfering with the pictures they were trying to snap of Gerry. I hold up my sign and he got the biggest smile on his face and he then goes about his business.

I got a lot more respect after they saw how please he seemed and people began asking me about the sign and the site and we all settled in a friendly banter for a long HOT wait ahead of us. We were able to snap pictures here and there when Gerry would come out... this is a picture of him from a distance taking a picture with an extra. Meanwhile, Misty texts us and tell us whats going on. Earlier I forgot to mention when I was standing with my sign being looked at strangely she runs out and gives me a quick kiss that also seemed to impress the crowd a little more because we explained she was in the movie and had a scene with Gerry. Later after lunch Misty was able to break and take a picture with me and sign my sign. So cool! Biker chick Misty Mills!

So we take a chance and run to Wendys, frightened to death that he would show up and sign for everyone and we would miss our chance. We had been out in the hot sun for about four hours by then. Well right when he got back he broke for lunch and we saw him be driven off and he waved as he went by us. Then after about and hour he returned and we all waved again..... Then...wait....wait....wait.... The group got much smaller and we got to know each other and become really friendly a man that owned the house directly across the street from the shoot invited us to sit in his front yard in the shade and got us patio chairs to make us comfortable... he was so nice and funny. It was getting toward evening and the neighbors began to come out and the crowd began to thicken with people waiting for Gerry. Only about 12 hold outs remained who were there all day. We began to worry as the number of the crowd went out that Gerry may not come out. Meanwhile I got to know Jeff our photographer and these next pics are the ones he took. He was awesome just sent them this evening. Finally around 8:30 Gerry's handlers walk him out toward the crowd and he was almost mobbed it took the body guards and police to hold them back. I rushed around and there was no way I could get even close to him and I was getting really worried... I had my goofy sign clutched tightly to me hoping he would recognize me from earlier. Thats me the real pitiful one in back with not a hope of getting near him... I wasn't supposed to be back there and if this cop had caught me he would have pushed me farther away... My daughter is next me and the little blond. And still way back So sad!!!!

His handler the blond guy announces... You can't take any pictures of Gerard Butler... And Gerry pipes up, "Wait... no, no... I didn't say that! They can take all the pictures they want but there are to many people and I can't take any pictures with individuals, I just don't have time." That was very understandable... So he is signing like crazy and his hand hand is flying as people are shoving things in front of him and the whole time he is being so pleasant and joking with the crowd a little. On a side note, I met Misty's friend she came right us to me because Misty told her what I look like and lets face it... red wild hair.... so she is a sweetie and we get to talking and her little boy is so cute and he is 5 years old and make this sign on a piece of cardboard. It was one sentence and he wrote it by himself..."Gerard Butler and something else (don't remember) but it looked so cute with his little five year old printing. He squeezed in all those legs and as crowded as it was Gerry noticed him and got down on his knee to be eye to eye and he signed his little sign... it was so sweet!. Look at me back there!!! Finally everybody is yelling... Gerry, Gerry, Gerry, and it's bedlam... but in one second there was quiet and I shouted. Gerry I run one of your web sites. His head immediately swiveled around and he looks right at me and I am holding my orange sign under my chin and he looks right at me and he smiles and kind of points at me...Like I remember you!!!! Well he continues to sign but I have hope. Until.....

His handler says, "Sorry guys Mr. Butler needs to go back to work and they begin to pull him away!" I begin pleading... I say "please Gerry, sign my sign!!!" This cop I was standing behind who was pretty much a big jerk and took his job way to seriously all day shouts at me... "TOO BAD! BACK UP!" Gerry stops, clears the crowd in front of him and me and walks right to me and puts his arm around me. He says, "I take pictures too and he motions to his handler I want a picture of me and her with her sign for my own personal collection." I almost freaken fell over....!" While he was waiting for his assistant to get his camera ready he saw this little girl standing right in front of us and she was about nine and just beaming at him. He said to me... "Isn't that the cutest little girl!" I agreed,....LOL!!! He says, "Come here I need to let your mom take your picture with me... so he lets go of me but nice I never let go of him!!!! After that his assitant got his camera and he had me hold my sign he put his arm around me and had his assitant take our picture. Then he signed my sign and wrote love next to his name and X X for kisses and then he hugged me and kissed me on the cheek and growled right into my ear, "Thank you Dar'lin," in that famous Scottish Burr. My camera chose that time to jam although Kloudancer does have the picture of me and him while I'm holding my sign that she promised to give me when she gets a chance. I do think Jeff may have the pictures of when he hugged me and I will post that if I get it... I have just a couple more pics I will post in MGP thread of Gerry, taken by Jeff and he is beautiful... I mean frightening hotness people... SMOK'IN!

How strong did he feel during the hug? I'd be holding on for dear life, LOL!!! Jeff had better send those pics - I want to see the two of you with that sign!! And the embrace, of course!
You write so well, had us all on the edge of our seats . . . you got to hug leather-clad Gerry Butler, OMG!!!
Look at those biceps!!! And that gorgeous face - I would have fainted after it was all over, I'm sure!!
Looks like that girl in the green shirt stole a kiss - he's smiling, so I don't think he minded, heh heh...

That was probably the best Gerry fan experience story I've ever heard. I laughed, I cried, etc. etc.
Seriously, what a great time. So many of us wish we had similar stories to share. The great thing is that Gerry takes time for his fans and never considers them beneath him. You are truly blessed, Dianne.

I forgot to mention it!! That little girl in green in front of you and Gerry was just adorable, and I can tell she's going to be a gorgeous young woman when she grows up.

Oh, I love your account of the whole day, Dianne..."we risked going to Wendy's, he waved but went away"...and the suspense builds...I'm glad I already knew that you did meet him before reading this, because I would have been on pins and needles reading your story otherwise And then, Wow, he came out, and he saw you and you hugged him, and..and...and...That's just so great, and you are just so lucky. I can only agree with Lola...You got to hug leather-clad Gerry Butler, OM Effin' G!!! Good thing you called him while you were in the crowd...you would have probably missed him if you hadn't. The whole thing is just so awesome. I am so jealous, but so happy for you. The pictures are great, and Gerry looks smokin' HOT!!! Oh, What about kloudancer? Did she get her picture taken too?
